Absolute garbage. Bought one, returned assuming it was defective. Second one was the same: wet, sloppy bass. Sounded like a fart. Ridiculous. Returned. Never again.

Only get this if you want headphones with HAPTIC feedback a.k.a. wearable subwoofer/bass shaker/tactile transducer. The effect works best with bass-heavy music (hip-hop/rap/EDM, even modern double pedal metal productions) as the rumbling simulates full-size subwoofer bone conduction/vibrations (aural AND tactile dimensions of the whole body acoustic experience). Current technology is limited to low-pass filtering so any low frequency in the dialogs/environment will trigger the vibration and will sound super weird if haptic level is set too high.

I am currently in the market for haptic headphones and I just bought this yesterday (Razer Nari Ultimate), after buying the newer haptic lineup Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense (the Kraken V3 Pro is just the wireless version of this). Both Nari Ultimate and V3 Hypersense use haptics by Lofelt which was just acquired by Meta. I also just ordered the Corsair HS60 Haptics when I learned it used Taction haptic technology, the inventor of which was heavily involved in the audiophile high-fidelity bass/subbass community where the prototype for the Taction Kannons was beta-tested.

I will receive my Corsair Haptics tomorrow and I'm super excited. I prefer the Nari Ultimate haptics at level 100 (0 to 100 fine adjustment) over the Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense at either HIGH or MED (only LOW, MID, HIGH coarse adjustment). I am assuming they're the same Lofelt transducer but the Ultimate 100 is somewhere between the Kraken MID and HIGH, where at HIGH the vibration drowns dialogs and at MID it's not as good as the Ultimate.

As surprisingly robust response! Have you tried them for gaming? Curious how you feel about these compared to just a regular headset as I'm considering picking up a pair at this price.

I just gamed with them and Hypersense is a LOT of fun in terms of immersion, especially in battlefield type games with frequent explosions all around. As for using the Nari Ultimate as a regular, all-purpose headset, I personally don't mind them but I can't recommend the same for anyone else--the mic sucks but I have a desktop one; for music with no kick drums and for zoom/podcasts/streams/shows the haptics randomly activating can be weird and you have to open Razer Synapse to dial haptics down for the Nari Ultimate. Also the Nari Ultimate wireless requires line of sight to prevent the beep-boop reconnects so I'm using a USB extension to fix that.

My suggestion is to just go ahead and try them as BestBuy returns are easy anyway. I got the wired Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense at $52.61 from Amazon Warehouse, Acceptable condition but received new (YMMV of course). The Corsair HS60 Haptics are also going for $51 (camo) and $58 (black) at the warehouse. Will post comparison as I receive today.

( BTW, for anyone claiming "X headphones have no bass" it is almost always an EQ problem. To prove this, use this bass test video we use at head-fi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7-os_eo91Y ) (I'll also test my JVC Kenwood SZ2000 and SZ1000 and compare the bass rumble to the haptics.)

Another edit re: importance of haptics in extreme bass volumes. The SZ2000 can do 30-200Hz at 125dB without distortion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42PB9uq6xCU 85dB and above can cause hearing loss. Haptics allow for simulating subwoofer SPL competition vibrations without the hearing loss risk.

I got the essentials and they were garbage. sound was off/odd, and the microphone was horrible. People on discord and in game complained about it sounding "watery and robotic."

I know the essential was the cheap version so somethings may be different, but I assume the microphone is the same. Be careful with this. You could do a lot better.

I've been using Phillips X2HR cans with a V-Moda BoomPro mic connected to my X-Box controller to play COD: Warzone. I kinda want a wireless headset. Would these be an audio upgrade?

Edit: These DO NOT work with X-Box.

I have these and i love them. I dont game that often, but use these mixed for gaming watching movies, and zoom calls.
My experience till now:
I actually love the haptic feedback, i have set it on low intensity , and they still work great and make the experience immersive.
Sound is good, i had to tune the eq to my liking which made it great.
The rgb chroma is useless and turned it off, in hopes to save some battery
Battery life is not that great, setting haptic intensity to low helped last them longer
Mic is not that bad, i have not have anyone complain on my voice clarity.
The cushion is soft and fits well over my ears, but cant wear them for more than 1.5 hours however, i cant wear even the 1000xm4 more than 1.5 hours,
I loved playing god of war 4 on this on my ps4, surround sound helped me spot odins ravens really easily.
I havent used any other such usb wireless headphones but removing the usb dongle from the ps4 gets tricky- i have fat fingers which get sweaty after gaming session, and usb dongle is tiny

So I received my Corsair HS60 Haptic! It's supposedly in Acceptable condition for $58, received battered box, but inside the headphones and accessories are still sealed and brand new lol

AND Corsair HS60 Haptic is haptics done right. NONE of the problems with vibrations going off in dialogs even at maximum haptics like in Nari Ultimate and Kraken V3 Hypersense. You still get the same intensity headshake in the right moments. I think the reason for this is that Taction technology cuts off at 160Hz while Hypersense states it cuts off at 200Hz (but it seems much higher? I might test that). My main problem with the Corsair is the max volume is too low, and there's no way to amp it unless I boost in EQ and introduce clipping. Also the Corsair microphone is leagues better than both Nari Ultimate and Kraken.

Thoughts on skullcandy crushers?

Haven't tried them. I'm interested with the Crusher Evo and would grab if there's a deal. For now I found my end game with Corsair HS60 Haptic. The more I use it with music it just sounds incredibly natural, like having a loudspeaker subwoofer in a room vibrating your body (in this case your head). I'll be returning my Razer headphones now. Corsair HS60 Haptic is $78 at MicroCenter new, but it's the ugly white camo. If you want to get lucky like I did try getting an Acceptable condition from Amazon warehouse and somehow get a brand new one. They have gone as low as $25 used and that is insane to me. Lowest price was $69.

I also wrote a review of haptic headphones here (pending approval): https://www.reddit.com/r/headphon...xperience/

I have the skullcrushers evo they are amazing for music. The bass doesn't feel gimmicky at all and it's very present. Being able to adjust the intensity . on the fly on the headset is nice as well. I also have the sony xm4 I find myself using the skullcrushers more.

Just sharing I have these, my partner got them after, and our cousin got them after trying ours. We find them really fun for gaming. Just fine for videos and such. Never use the mic (just no need). I'm thrilled with them. Yes, they can be boomy but that makes games fun! I'm picky (but not insane) with audio quality and would give them an 8 out of 10. For this price I think you will be thrilled.

This is the kind of feedback we need on deals sometimes. I don't want to listen to a fart for $90, even if it is a "deal."
