Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

I'm on a tmo one plus plan with 8 lines, 20% insider and kickback. I qualified but the rep told me I would move to 9-12 lines to get the free line but I would lose my kickback and insider so it wasn't worth it for me.
oh interesting. I am on magenta with 8 lines and the rep told me I would not lose insider or any other promos when I move to 9-12 lines. I bailed because I wasn't confident about that... the rep used lots of bs canned phrases and smiley faces

What's the best way to contact T-Force? I called 611, and was on hold for 35 minutes, and the rep I have is taking more than 30 minutes to "find more information" about the promo. Wtf.
Ask for billing on the line

Was told it's open to all plans and it is not random. It is catching reps by surprise which may be why the inconsistent answers. It's not available on my account but they asked me to try back later as the promo is only showing eligible for some accounts right now but it should be open to all.

I chatted through the app on my phone after the rep told me no on the phone and he told me I was eligible. I am on Magenta Plus and he added the new line.

Tell them $35 fee is currently waived online but you can only add promo over the phone

My situation is the same as yours. I have an old One plan that only allows up to 8 lines - and I have 8. I think most reps don't know the nuances of adding a 9th line to a plan that caps at 8, so they won't know all the problems that can happen. A friend unknowingly did that on his One plan a while ago to take advantage of a free line. Well, the rep will add that 9th free line for you, but they will change your plan to the most current plan (it was a Magneta, One no longer exists for new accts) that allows 9+ lines. I don't know if the rep does it manually to push the free line thru, or if the system automatically does it. Anyway, he lost **all** his acct promos when his One plan got switched to Magenta, including Kickback. It took him months to try to get everything back - getting Kickback restored was particularly difficult. Not sure if it's fixed now, I don't ever bring up T-Mobile with him!

So I won't be trying to add a 9th line, the headaches just aren't worth it.
This is exactly what I am scared of. Anyone else with exact same plan successfully do this and what pointers to ask for with reps?

Just FYI, some of these agents don't know what they are doing. I asked again and another agent was able to confirm that the promo is available for me after an earlier chat with a different agent said I didn't have the promo.

On Tmobile Majenta plan (1.0). Joined Tmobile about 2 years ago. 6 total lines (2 paid and 4 free) with insider discount, paying $96 / month.

Did a chat thru app and got everything documented. Was able to add the 7th line for free. Agent was not able to waive the $35 fee but gave me a courtesy credit of $35 on my bill! So will be out just the tax on the $35 support charge.

Thanks everybody on this forum for the help!

Can do either or but will be charged $35 device connect charge.
I did it online and preferred to have the free sim card sent to my address. Free. No $35 charge. Ask the rep on the phone if you can do that too.

edit: military magenta plan. 3 lines for $90. now I have 5 for $100. plus insurance for one phone another $18

If I have 8 lines already, will adding another line change my account?
I'm on 8 lines too! Heard a lot about the 9th line messing things up.
