Is this worth getting or is the $25 dollar home internet a better deal? I have a work around if I get the home internet since you can't use the sim for accepting direct calls.
T-Mobile home internet is very slow. You only get what you pay and sometimes not even that except if it's a free line which I never qualify because I am on Magenta Plus. I plan to leave t-mobile when my bill credits end in time for IPhone 15 going to AT&T who is now aggressively offering price promotions

If you can get a TMO Insider Code, you can bring it down to $136 for 4 lines on Magenta Max.
Try calling a store near you and talk to the rep and see if he can get you one.

Note: Then if you are still eligible for this free line promo, you can get 5 lines on Magenta Max for $136
Aren't insider codes only for new accounts?

Simple choice with 2 paid and 2 free lines from a bring friends promotion (around iPhone 7 release year). Was told my plan does not qualify for this promotion. In case anyone who is in similar situation wanted to know.

I have Simple Choice North America and was eligible.
Okay so wow. After almost an hour of chats and a 3 way conversation, I got my free line. Had to pay the $35 but was worth it. Some takeaways:

We have 8 lines already (I didn't know the limit but went for it)
Went with the Message feature on T-Mobile app
Rep was more than willing to help and verified eligibility … I'm on the "legacy" 6GB NA simple choice plan
We were having some issues with my EID / IMEI (I'm on iPhone 14 PM and have a couple different carrier eSIMs. I deleted a Visible one to free up IMEI2 but I guess that didn't work)
Got some supervisor joining the chat - figured she would be helpful
We had to do a voice authorization as I wasn't the primary and had only "Full" access
Super tried to tell me I wasn't eligible as I had a grandfathered plan and had to go to some Essentials plan
First rep stood up for me and said she can do it and just need documentation that we got authorization
Finished it all up, paid $35 and got the free line

Oh and if it matters to some, I have 2 free lines from previous free line promos

It is free for as long as you Cancel. But you must keep the line active for at least 12 months.
You mean as long as you don't cancel right?

Sc doesn't limit streaming to 480p but it seems magenta does
Didn't know that. Now I'll definitely never switch. They'll have to pry this plan from my cold, dead fingers.

I'm on Simple Choice and and was told by chat just now that I qualify.
They also assured me that the new line would have the same data as my existing lines, though I suspect that will be an uphill battle from other reports I've seen with Simple Choice.
Same here. Because the other lines had grandfathered promos such as free extra data that no longer exist in their system, T-Mobile does not allow adding those promos to new lines so you are left with a very "bare" line with almost no data. It is indeed an uphill battle if you want to match new lines with the old lines.

Has anyone tried to use this to apply a corporate discount? My company has a 20% discount on the Magenta Max plan if I add a new line. I haven't done it because I don't want to add a new line. Would this count?

Got shot down via 611 phone call. went to the phone app and got the offer by just typing "free line promotion". The rep knew what she was doing without me asking for anything else: sent me a link to put in my credit card info; sent me a txt for confirm and consent; asked for shipping address but I happen to have an unused sim; provided the sim and boom, I got a new line working.
