Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

The customer dissatisfaction of the majority (?) not being able to get this promo seems to outweigh the goodwill I assume this was trying to create!
Nothing to do with goodwill. Discounts are used to attract and retain customers. An increase in voice and internet lines makes the company look more profitable to investors, regardless of actual profit numbers.
As someone who is on an old simple choice plan I've missed out on eligibility for several of these free lines, it's not that big or a deal. I think the real issue with this secret promotion is the lack of details, announcement, or even terms. I happened to be eligible for this one so I'll take it.

I added the promo yesterday morning over messaging, got the confirmation text this morning that i qualify for the promo and see the promo on my account when i login.
Great news! I canceled 1 line beginning of OCT and they said I qualified for BYOD line this morning but I was hesitant to activate yet.

Asked via twitter about 14 hours ago, just got the following response:

Good afternoon and happy holidays, my friend! Super glad you reached out to us because I've got great news for you! This holiday season, we have an amazing, limited-time promotion just for some of our loyal customers. As a thank you for your loyalty, we are giving the gift of a free voice line. All you need to do is bring your own device, maintain your current rate plan, activate a new voice line, and do not cancel any voice lines for a year. Your new voice line will be free after monthly bill credits! You can activate the new line yourself on http://MyT-Mobile.com or in the app here sooner, or wait for the next available specialist to add it within our team: https://t-mobile.com/support/acco...our-accoun Please note there won't be any indicator online or special process for activating this line to make it free, just because your account is set up right for it, the normal add a line order flow is just what to follow and you'll be good to go!

Edit: T-Mobile One plan FRLTULFM9

I will give it a go then.

It was meant to be rolled out as a hush hush style promo where customers talking to reps happened to be offered a free line.
But of course articles were written, discussions happened, and now everyone and their mom are contacting them for it.
I'm sure, but now its backfired they should fix the problem by making it available for everyone rather than reducing customer service for the whole Tmobile customer base because people can't get thru on help lines, loyal customers now feeling like second class customers etc etc

I messaged them and they changed to unlimited data for free. Guess I will find out tomorrow if that really the case
Where did you message them? Are you in the SC plan too?

Hasn't necessarily backfired. They'll get to report a healthy number of subscriber additions for the quarter, and Wall St will probably reward them for it.

It's a voice line promotion, not a wearable promotion.

I'm on the T-Mobile ONE plan with 5 lines. I checked with TMobile chat and confirmed that I qualify. When asked about the $35 fee, they said it's an activation fee that is charged for all new lines, not a DCC fee, so cannot be avoided by self-servicing.

I decided to proceed with them anyway, then they wanted to upgrade my plan to Magenta Plus. claiming cannot add a new line to T-Mobile ONE plan.

Anyone in similar situation have any luck?

Customers waiting 12 hours to be told they are not to be treated like others for no apparent reason doesn't seem very positive. But agree regarding subscriber numbers and revenue/line etc. probably being diluted long term unless they can upsell these lines or 'accidentally' bill for stuff hoping people don't notice

Thanks for the reply. Did it automatically upgrade your new SC line to unlimited or you had to send a message? If so, through FB? Twitter?

Did you get charged $35 for adding the line ?
Yup, $35 + tax. It's a must I believe.

Is there a port-in rebate able to be stacked with this free line now?
