Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

Where does it tell you if you're eligible when you log in your account? I have Magenta 1.0 with 4 lines. I didn't see anything.

I was able to confirm that my Magenta account with 4 lines was eligible through iMessage chat.

I then manually added a new line to my account through the T-Mobile app. I selected eSIM activation since it waives the $35 activation fee. My current iPhone has support for dual eSIM's (existing line is installed on the primary eSIM), so I used the unused secondary eSIM for the new line. After verifying that the new lines' number and data worked I just deleted the eSIM since I don't need two lines on my phone.

I was able to see that the new free line appears on my account deals and promo page. Whenever I eventually need the new line I can just install the eSIM onto a phone, or if I want a physical SIM card, I can get one from amazon, log into my T-Mobile account to link the line to it.

First time taking advantage of a free line promo. Easy process overall, no out of pocket expenses.

why can't u add free line at Costco? any reason?
Costco kiosks went out of business. Many articles written about it.
Everyone suddenly laid off one morning. Very sad.

Do I need to call rep to check if I already qualify 2022 BYOD Line P1? Or can I just log in to my account to see if it shows up?
Answer is on the wiki page of this thread, go to first page and look into the wiki.

Hmmm, I thought you can't cancel a line going back 90 days. Someone said a year but I still believe it's 90 days. I do know you can't cancel another line on your account going forward at least a year or else the free line is no longer free
Yeah, I thought the same too but someone said they were able to get the promo having a line canceled within last 60 days so I took a chance.

was able to add a line last night and waiting for physical sim to be shipped. the representative did not ask for imei of the byod phone.

once i activate it, does anyone know how long i have to port a number in (want to port from another carrier but there's still 2 months left on contract)?

thank you!
You can port in a number anytime. Doesn't matter if the line was added 1 hour or 10 years ago. Adding a line and porting in a number to a line are two independent processes.

Well just took the gamble with a chat rep. Took forever as I walked him through everything step by step and asked for a supervisor to shadow him. Supposedly on the new One 9+ soc now with everything migrating over, added the free line, requested rep to add Plus promo and kickback to new line which he said he did, and lastly requested and got him to agree to credit the account $35 next month. I screenshotted everything and doubt everything he stated will happen and go smoothly.

To everyone who has gotten this promo after chatting with a rep, I need your help.

I'm on the MM 55+ plan
I'm chatting with a rep on iMessage and he says if i switch to the regular Magenta plan then I'll be eligible for the free line promo.

Has anyone encountered this situation yet?

Edit: to add to my earlier question, can I switch from MM 55+ to regular Magenta and take the free lineoffered by this rep. Then after the promo is added to the account switch back to MM 55+?
Is there anything in the promo terms that negates the offer if you switch to a different plan?
If you're on a discounted plan like First Responder, Military or 55+ you're almost always excluded from these free lines promo.

I've only known of 2 instances where these accounts were eligible for free lines and that was a BOGO. I've been with T-Mobile for over a decade and lost 2 free LOU from 2016 when I switched to the military plan (regretted ever since).

What you are planning to do won't work as you will a) have a higher cost with the regular MM plan and b) when you switch back to the 55+plan you will lose the free line promo.

Magenta Max with 8 Lines
Reps say I'm ineligible.

One said I was but need to wait for the system to trigger my account before he can apply it.

Another said he been thru a few that asked and only a select few were eligible and doesn't know why if most had the same plans yet don't see the option for them.
