Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

Tforce claims that this i can cancel any non voice line and not affect this promo. Aka the home internet line i'm testing out

"Any cancellations of lines other than voice lines won't count against you for this promotion, so a Home Internet cancellation is fine. 😊"

I added a new line myself using T-Mobile app, on Simple Choice plan. They added $15 data plan automatically - will have to call them fix that.

My previous two free lines are showing as

2020 Line On Us 2
2021 Line On Us 6

However the latest addition shoes up as

2022 BYOD Line P1

There is nothing to indicate that it's free.

Anyone else got something different or interpret it differently?
Are you saying you added the plan yourself even though there was no indication that your plan was eligible?

If I add this promo, then decide to switch to a Magneta plan, would I still be able to keep this free line while getting an additional free line from the 2 lines get 1 free promo currently?
Base on my discussion with chat about my plan. They said yes
I'm wait to confirm from tforce

alrighty, 8 hours latter tforce changed the $15 data to $0 data! why won't t-mobile just let us do it ourselves....
Injave same issue, and was inform that my SC plan was retired so the system won't recognize it. They have to manually adjust in system

T-Mobile One Plan Chat didn't work after an hr and a half she came back and said I had to have the magenta plan. Called in 611 and they were able to add it. I was explicit I didn't want to change my plan and was confirmed it would not but of course time will tell if they screwed something up.

If I try to add the line myself even through I was told I'm not eligible, and cancel it in a few days if I find out I'm not, will that count against me for future promotions? Specifically the kind of promotion where you get phone credits with a new line, but only if you did not close one recently.

How many lines maximum with SC plan? I can't add new line by myself with Web bowser or mobile app, previous US representative told me my account and my plan eligible up to 12 lines, but I has been contacted them by 611 or 1800 over 8 hours( 6 hrs yesterday and 2 hrs today), all of overseas representative unable help me add the line, only confirm I'm eligible for BYOD promo. Go to store for help, store assistant not directly add the line, contact the sale department and failed adding the line, I would like to know who use SC plan, what's the maximum lines you have? Is any one more ten lines?( doesn't matter free line or paid line)

Thanks

Yes. You lose eligibility for 90 days

If you're eligible, you'd have to reactivate the cancelled line then add the new line.
False. I cancelled a line in October and did not have to reactivate it to get promo.

I would like to know this as well. I was denied by a rep but it looks like I'm able to add a new line via the app. It's telling me the extra cost will be $40 per month. If I dont get the promo, will I be able to cancel this line without penalty?

Hmmm, this is on pretty shaky ground. You should note that if your account / plan is eligible for the promo it will just be and you can order the line on your own online. Whatever CSR you talked to that finally said you're eligible and the previous 3 said you're not, he/she is not doing any special (like adding some promo code) to make it eligible (unless they're switching your plan to make it eligible, which is worse); they are basically just doing the ordering for you. I (and many others) learned the hard way in past and had to cancel the line after it was really not eligible. With that said, if you have that CSR write notes on your account as proof, at least you have evidence to fight them if the promo is not eligible for you.
So today I received an automated text message from T-Mobile saying:

"Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount from T-Mobile as long as you maintain eligibility. View t-mo.co/activity for account details"

And when I look inside my account I see details of the new added line, as well as the following under "service promos" tab:

"2022 BYOD Line P1: enrolled"

All signs point to the promotion being manually applied correctly by the CSR that we spoke with after being denied three times previously.

Did you order it yourself or via chat/call? I did it myself, no new number/line or promo yet.
You should be good.

I'm in simple choice with 6 lines included.

611 told me I qualified but i HAVE to pay $35 or the promo won't work. They didn't want to credit back. Told them I'd think about it.

Chatted with 611 later asking if I can do it myself online to have the fee waived. They said I qualify but I have to change my plan and they wanted to do it over chart and charge me the $35. They didn't answer my question about doing it myself but while I was talking to them I went through the process of ordering a line. It didn't ask me to change my plan. I told the "supervisor" who had stepped in and was telling mei need to change my plan and she said if it allows me to do it online without changing plans then I can go ahead and they'll see why on their end it was asking them to change my plan.

I ordered on Thursday around midnight. Saturday morning I see the promo reflecting in my account.

It's showing $15 for 6gb so I gotta work on then changing it to unlimited.

Thanks OP!

Wait for a few days, you might get the free line. If not you can cancel and you only get charged for pro-rated. $40 indicates that you are on a magenta plan, but when/if the promo applies, you will see $40 2022 BYOD P1 on your account. If you happen to cancel, you will have a 90 day wait period for some future promos.
