Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

So today I received an automated text message from T-Mobile saying:

"Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount from T-Mobile as long as you maintain eligibility. View t-mo.co/activity for account details"

And when I look inside my account I see details of the new added line, as well as the following under "service promos" tab:

"2022 BYOD Line P1: enrolled"

All signs point to the promotion being manually applied correctly by the CSR that we spoke with after being denied three times previously.
I received that same text but when I look at my account I don't see the promo listed. I wonder if it'll show up later... But I definitely do see the new line since my bill is showing increase of $40 because of that line. Hopefully it corrects itself.

For those of you who have added a free line and need a cheap phone to use it on you can always get the Metro OnePlus Nord N200 for $40.00. It's the free phone with the $40.00 plan.

This particular phone works out of the box with the T-mobile sim card. You can actually switch back and forth between putting in the Metro sim and T-Mobile sim and it will still always work when the T-Mobile sim is in it. It also automatically adds the T-Mobile and T-Mobile Play app as well as the T-Mobile splash screen.

In addition you can still activate it on Metro so that it officially unlocks after the six month time period.

$64 with insider code
I assume you are on regular magenta. How many paid lines and how many free lines you had when paying $64/mo?

When you added the extra free line from this promo, will you get a further reduction in your monthly price? Thanks!

tmobile.com -> click shop -> add a line -> bring your own device.
No code required.
During checkout, it will show you have to pay $30 monthly and you can just ignore it.
Once the order is complete, the line becomes free after a few hours.
But the Tforce person said I was not eligible when I asked.

Should I ignore that?

1st try on 15th. app chat said offer expired
2nd try on 16th app chat said account eligible with $35 charge
3rd try on 16th dilaled 611 and rep said he heard about the promo but he couldnt find the promo in the system. so i gave him the promo code and he was able to find it and he was able to credit $35 back to the account after paying $35 with cc up front. new sim is being shipped via 2nd day air even after i told the rep i have spare sim on hand.

as of 17th 7am, new line showed up on my account as $30/line. 10am this morning received a text that i got promo service discount for as long as i maintain eligibility.

I have one TI plan 4 paid, 6 free lines and 2 tablet lines. Anyone know if i cancel my table lines will affect this free line promo ? I know we cant cancel previous voice lines, but not sure about tablet lines

Not sure if it's the same situation, but when I received the text, I did not see the corresponding discount in my account. However, under Bill & Pay > Promotions, I did see that the promotion was listed as a Service Promotion. When I checked this morning, the discount showed up correctly under the Account link, so it might just be a matter of time.

Well now I'm getting a lot of nonsense from both from 611 and chat. Now they're saying BS it may take two billing cycles for everything to show.

This promo finally shows up on my account, with an assigned number and $0.00/month fee. Now just waiting for the sim to get here.
How long did it take?

Same. I got the promotional text yesterday around 6pm. I still don't see the actual promo listed under my account. Bill has also increased

Oh. You're right! I see it under the Bill & Pay > View Discount and Promotions and under service.

But it is not showing up under the account link yet.

I placed the order via chat in the T-Mobile app.
I got an email at 1:30am that the sim shipped, and now the new line as well as the promo show in my account. So 37 hours from order.

This isn't really an answer to your question, more like a follow up question, but from what I read in the OP, this new line isn't fundamentally "free". It will be charged like normal but for the next 12 months TMobile will give you bill credit to cover it so it ends up you don't have to pay for it. Then after 12 months, it becomes a real free line. So if you cancel any other lines on your account within the 12 months, the bill credits will cease. Is my understanding correct?

FWIW, after getting this "free" line added, on my account, I see a plan change scheduled for December 2023, which I assume is to make it a real free line.
I think what you laid out makes sense. But I ended up with $16 extra per month. Still a great value IMO.
