Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

I just did an online activation with an eSIM card and decided to do it even though I was told that I did not qualify for the promotion. I went to the T-Mobile store and they said no I called the 611 number they said no I chatted with T-force on Twitter and they said no but then I saw all these comments saying that they did it anyway and it worked and I decided to do it it didn't show up at first it took about 10 minutes and then it showed up I got the promotion for the bring your own device =)
I tried doing the same, but it's not showing the promotion after activating the eSIM. I'll keep an eye on it and update if mine starts showing the discount reflected. I'm on Magenta MAX and had 3 lines before activating this one (2 paid, 1 free with 2022 Line on Us P2).

Magenta Max 55+

Tried via Twitter a couple of days ago and was told not eligible.

Tried the T-Mobile app tonight and was told I was eligible. Tried to use esim, but the rep said they had to ship a sim. She sent a link to a CC payment page for the $35 fee. Entered card info and checked the auto bill box.

Here's the email info I received:

Item name Quantity

MAGENTA MAX 55+ 1
BYOD 3in1 SIM Card 1
Device Connection Charge 1
MAGENTA MAX 55+ ADD-A-LINE 1
MAXUP W/40GB HOTSPOT 1

She did say the line was free for 12 months, but given she was unaware an esim could be used, I didn't challenge her on it.

I took screenshots of the entire chat.

I added through self service and I see the line and service promo code.

Now that I can see the line and my own device on the account, can I upgrade the device and grab a phone like pixel 7 for free using the 24 months credit?

Or will that cause issues with the new free line?
Why don't u do it and tell us what happens...

Couple of years ago I added a free line on the last day and the number didn't show up until the SIM shipped after the promo ended.

No discount showed up automatically.

Had to send screenshots of my order confirmation with the date in order to convince T-Force to add the discount to my line.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I will take my chances and wait. I may have to fight with them later to add the promo. I have been with them for more than 20 years since Voicestream days. I went through many disputes with them over the years.

Just added a line to scfuttbd - Simple Choice Unlimited using the esim method. It showed that it would cost $40/month. Once checked out I went into my account the 2022 free line was listed. Also received the text message a few minutes later. We have 2 paid lines, a 2020 free line and now this 2022 free line. Makes it much nicer with kids that are getting older.

Within like 15 min, I got a text and then in like an hour the promo showed up on my account summary.

I paid the $35 to guarantee that I got the promo. Worth it imo rather than gambling and doing to yourself.

Also I just added the line as esim on my current phone. I'll figure out how to actually make use of it later.
Thanks and Repped.

I had a spare physical SIM....so I used that to activate the new line.

The promo showed up after 5-10 minutes on the acct.

Everything seems good. Free line under Magenta for Business plan.

Thanks everyone who helped.

Here's another interesting datapoint. I think T-Mobile might have screwed up my account. I was on magenta max with a total of 8 lines (4 paid and 4 free) paying $160 mthly. On 12/15 (Thur) I added the new free line promo. On 12/16 it shows that my plan changed to magenta max 9L and the add a line promo was removed for my existing lines. I hope this is a just temporary glitch. I'll probably wait a few days prior to reaching out to them.
Same thing happened to me, plan changed to 9L then new line got cancelled and plan changed back to regular M. Max. I had to call in to get the new line reactivated. Not sure if it would automatically do that if I haven't call in.

I added a line on eSim to my Business ONE plus promo plan. No text or promo showing up. Currently have 5 paid/5 free lines, let's see what happens in the next couple days.

EDIT: Promo showed up few minutes later. No text message though. Fingers crossed!

It keeps wanting to send me a new one, how did you get it to take your existing one?

I didn't get the text message either. Maybe business plan thing. But the promo is on the acct. No change in the bill amount after adding the new line. So hopefully every thing will stick. Thanks

When exactly does this promotion end? I have a iPhone SE 2022 (3rd Gen), does that have an eSIM? I believe it does but have never used an eSIM.

If I also have a new, never before activated T-Mobile SIM card lying around, can I use that to activate this deal? Will I need to pay a $35 fee for either this route or the eSIM route?
