I also bought this last month. I really like it. If the bowl is full it will allow itself to dispense for a few minutes after the time - I guess to account for if a cat is actively eating. It will not over fill the bowl. I did not have any C batteries for the battery backup but the device is 5V usb. I plugged it into a small powerbank and then the powerbank into the wall. This should act like a UPS and allow the device to continue to function after short power outages.

It has worked this past month touch free.

This looks like a decent deal. What happens if the bowl is still full or has food in it, does it still dispense and possible overflow or spill food?

Works well overall as I just got it a month ago but it has a battery backup, where is the batteries die, it doesnt work anymore, WTF? Why are the batteries dying so fast in the first place, I wonder if I got a lemon... BACKUP batteries should not be required for it to work... so if I am gone and battery dies, it wont feed???

It will continue to dispense but since it's on a timer and has portion options you can set it to what the pet needs.

We bought some wifi ones on Amazon and absolutely love them complete game changer.

Just as a tip for someone who might have same issue, they would dispense randomly but if you set to lock it it would fix the issue and work perfect.

It uses D batteries actually. Just buy some AA to D spacers such as these. They worked fine in mine. But to confirm, it does not need batteries to operate but it will not run without power and you'll have to reprogram your timings.

Our unit seems to be working without issue for a week. Good purchase and price.

A decent amount of 1 star reviews are saying the feeder timing mechanism doesn't always work, and that you can nudge the feeder say from a headbutting cat or cat rubbing against the unit and food will spill out of the holes. Bad design flaws. Maybe wait for a better one?

I have a different model of this brand. It works just fine. I keep it in my carport for my cat who refuses to come inside. However, the ferals have figured out that they can just knock it over and help themselves.

We've had one for 5+ years and it's worked great. It's the blue and white one, old model:

HoneyGuaridan Upgraded A25 Automatic Pet Feeder Food Dispenser with Removable Food Container, Portion Control,Voice Recording and Timer Programmable, 6-Meal for Dogs and Cats & Small Animal https://a.co/d/3pqKlfW

But seriously, don't freak out and overthink this product. It does exactly as intended and most important, feeds your pets at intervals. We use it for our cat and have gone about a week away with cat having water and food and he's done amazing. Like other said, game changer on convenience too.

From the other related one I have. Yes, until it's all gone or it simply can't push the massive pile of kibble any further

I bought two of these back in 2016, their previous models. They worked great except for one thing. The clocks in them were terribly inaccurate. Well, at least in 1 of the 2. They'd get out of sync with each other so they didn't dispense food at the same time, which is what i wanted. I loved the voice recording though.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I90GSMG/

I eventually had to stop using them because it was too annoying to reset the clocks every week so they'd go back in sync.

No idea if that's been fixed in these newer models.

I understand limiting your cats food, but why would you want to limit their water?
