Really *hate* the UI on Motorola phones. My husband has been using his deceased step-father's Motorola phone and the UI really sucks. Anyone know why Tracfone isn't offering Samsung smartphones as much as they used to before Verizon took over? We both need to upgrade our Tracfones and the Samsung phones offered are very limited.

It's a budget phone with inferior hardware. I haven't used this particular Moto G Stylus 5G yet but I doubt its overall performance can support 5G speed, so 5G would be a waste.

I've had Tracfone's Samsung A03 as an enmergency/backup phone for a while and it is excruciatingly slow - even for most basic tasks. So caveat emptor.

I hate Tracfone with a passion, and I would urge people to stay away. They have zero support if you ever need them. My father had been a customer buying minutes, and he got a message saying he needed to change phones to continue using their network. It gave me a link to get a free phone or a phone at a reduced cost. I ordered him a Motorola G Pure at no cost. It shipped and I got a tracking number. Days later I track it to find out it was delivered to Indiana instead of Virginia and was "returned to sender". Calling support gets me nowhere. It's been over 2 months. I've gotten pitiful excuses like "They're busy in the warehouse and they'll get it shipped out" to "Wait another 6 days." Truth is they don't know what to do. They've lost a customer because they refuse to re-ship a $40 phone. They said we returned to sender. In the tracking after it shipped it says it was recalled to sender for whatever reason (not by us, by them I presume). Sometimes when you call they don't even know who they are...they refer to themselves as Straight Talk support. I'm sure they may be handling both companies but I'm also sure they should be specific depending on who they are talking to.

I cannot stress how terrible they are. I cannot get escalated to anyone who understands anything. I think if Tracfone had an actual representative in person I may physically assault them; that's how bad and frustrating it has been.

I don't like Samsungs in general but the OP I was replying to didn't like Motos. I prefer LGs over either but there's none available except the LG Reflect.

You can use any unlocked phone with tracfone... It's the BYOD program.
