I was going to buy it, but after seeing the reviews on you tube ( .....tu.be/ek2ec62Vlro) it became obvious this is not a very good phone even at an offered discount...

Curious... TechDaily and Android Central seem to like this phone quite a bit even when it was still priced at $250 - at $149 it would be an even better bargain.

The Android Central reviewer goes on to say the 5.4 may be the best phone for under $250 towards the end of the article...
The fingerprint is slow, the night mode is weird. Supposedly there is no way to do a factory reset on this phone.... That was enough for me. If the phone is not a part of the mainstream, Samsung, Moto, apple, is really hard to get support either official or on forums...
on top of this it scratches easily.
I might as well get TracFone Moto for $100 same specs and one year of service.
as far as techdaily and Android central go ... those are advertising outlets under a disguise of reviewers. I have not seen a single article from either is them that explicitly says:. don't buy product ABC because of XYZ. I've seen plenty of articles though that say this is a great deal for item ABC even though there are some XYZ drawbacks...

AndroidCentral=Paid Review Dont buy looking at their reviews. In fact when it comes to reviews it is better to stick to lesser known reviewers because the moment one gets better the companies buys it off or just gives them freebies in exchange of favourable reviews.

Just out of curiosity, why people care so much about 5G. I have 5G, but I don't use it. My 4G LTE is faster than 5G. So I have turned off 5G on my phone. At least for now, I think 5G is more of a marketing pitch. This might change in the future, but I don't think it will change in the next few years. And people get new phones every year or so...

I would tend to agree with you. If you're close to a 5G tower and have good line of sight, 5G works great. For the remaining 99% of the other people, not so much...

The recent 2021 Moto G Stylus 5G + 1 year free service for $80 is a much better deal.
I was hoping they'd make it.
All thing being kinda equal, I'd buy a Nokia over samsung or moto.
