One of the last things I bought before Fry's Electronics went out of business was a Yamaha Ventage 1070 - still one of my most wise purchases and prized possessions. Love it.

The product page makes it look pretty good. Is it worth it at this price even when you're stuck with a $500 gc?
I was considering a Denon AVR S760H 7.2ch 8K

I had always wanted to buy a Yamaha Aventage series A/V receiver and I bought one from a site that claimed it was "Yamaha Factory Refurbished" Which would be the highest level of refurbishment.

It looked like something that I would find at a pawn shop, in working condition but all scuffed up. (Obviously heavy usage)

I think the A6A for$1649 few days back was a better deal.

I didn't realize this receiver was so expensive, I got it open box for like $550 almost two years ago and I think retail was like 850 or so. It's a great receiver, but between the Shield and OLED the HDMI cables have been really finicky to get Dolby Vision running (can't blame the receiver per se, but I don't think it's helping).

A lot of factors in that question but in general if you prefer Yamaha and want/need the GC then it might be.

Have all newer receivers dropped analog component video inputs?

Yes, mine too, but that didn't answer my question.

Ok how do returns work with the GC provided you dont spend the GC? Do they invalidate the GC or deduct the amount from the return? The latter would be sketchy af. Anyone do this recently?

as with any "deal" that involves a gift cad or rebate, etc. consider the price without the extra perk and if it is still a deal then buy it. if it is not, then don't as there is always a chance you may not be able to redeem or be denied the extra perk.
