75" U6H has an IPS panel according to Rtings. 65" U6H has a VA panel. For full-array local dimming with only 32 to 48 dimming zones it is best to go with a VA panel. For full-array local dimming to work properly on an IPS panel you would need at least 720 dimming zones.
I got this deal a week ago, set it up for my parents as a Christmas gift and was not impressed with the contrast/black levels. Color and brightness was good, but I'm returning it to Walmart and grabbing the TCL 65S555. They're having a few issues with the GoogleTV platform too, so switching them back to Roku is definitely better, and at $400 open box excellent at Best Buy, it's a much better deal.

excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject matter, but is that a good thing or a bad thing relatively?
A VA panel is better than an IPS panel for a 58" TV with 32 or less local dimming zones. HKC panels tend to be used in the lower-end Samsung TVs and never in the high-end Samsung TVs.

This or the Hisense U6GR for the same price? The U6GR seems to have a higher peak brightness but is a year older.

Do BB open boxes have the same manufacturer warranty? Did you buy extended warranty from BB?

Does the 75" have problems then?

I see that the 65" is recommended by Rtings for their budget TV pick.
I got the 75" and it's seems to have less motion blur than the smaller ones. I'd absolutely recommend this TV. You won't get a better 75" TV at this price point ($699)

Don't get the 75". It uses a different panel.

I bought the 75 inch specifically BECAUSE it has the different panel...I wanted the IPS panel because a wide viewing angle was important to me based on the space. I have been delighted by this TV!

I would agree on this. I have a Samsung qn90b 75 in one room and Hisense U8H 55 in the other room and these TVs are very similar in performance to the naked eye. I watch a lot of hockey and I think that actually the u8h has better panel uniformity than the qn90b. I paid 599 for the 55-in u8h and I think it was a tremendous bargain.

As long as they actually give you one in that condition.

My "open box - excellent" was missing the stand, missing the controller, and had dead pixels. They even had written it on the label…

I got this from BB on Black Friday. The panel has issues and I am not impressed. I do not need a lot for what I am using it for, but the quality of the one I got is not acceptable.
Hopefully you exchanged or returned it.

My U6G 65" has been good so far so just luck of the draw with the panel lottery it seems.

Just hate it that these tvs all have very little ram. Makes it extremely slow after you install a few apps.

Solid deal. I bought a U6GR a couple of weeks ago for the same price. Yes, it's a year older but for a 65" I am impressed enough for the total investment. If I would've had this option, I don't know if I would have bought the GR. The positive to it is the Roku platform but the year newer parts would be tempting.

Crappy TV with horrible sounds and color calibration. The software is also faulty and time to time. Will crash and kick you out of apps. The score they receive from? rtings.com is such bs. They shouldn't have received high score. My LG and Samsung TV from over a decade ago or much better than this crap complete regrets

What's with these 10 year old accounts with under 10 posts that bash just about any electronic product on Slickdeals?
