This is an awesome package. 6800h is great and the igpu is awesome. I'd totally get if I didn't recently buy a Zephyrus G14.

The website warns that going to 32gb won't allow you to pick the OLED screen, but it's not in the options anyways…

Upgrading to 32GB memory and 1TB is $842. Not bad.

those are intel cpu though, compares to the 680m on 6800H, the graphic performance is day and night, 680m is on par with GTX 1650, and the intel cpu prob ran out of battery in 3 hours, 6800h can do 10+ hours while still have a iGPU double the performance of intel iris xe

I got the 845, it's great. Debating whether to cancel the 14p order - if I kept it I'd be using the 845 as my backup computer. ETA: My 14p order has been pushed back again, also to Feb 8.
I called lenovo just now. They said they could only give me 5% discount, AFTER it ships. As in they charge me the original price, then credit 5% back.

Is this the same for you?

Also, it seems like sales customer service is outsourced to india. Hard to understand accent, and don't fully listen to what you are saying and have misassumptions about what you're asking.

For me they said $50 after it ships, which is a little more than 5%. They did give me a reference number so there's documentation.

A new CPU is always around the corner, so that's hardly an argument. I just noted that delivery had been pushed back from its original estimate.

Mine did as well, supposed to arrive Monday. As a side note, interesting that from Anchorage, UPS ships it to me in Los Angeles via ... Louisville, KY, more than double the direct distance between Anchorage and LA!

I'm also routed through KY. I think there's where the import customs happens.

My first impressions: excellent build quality, feels very premium, great keyboard, display is very sharp, runs a bit warmer than my EliteBook with 6600U but that's expected, very quiet fan even when set to "Extreme Performance" mode. Not sure about the design with HDMI and USB-A ports on the back - advantage is cords are hidden out of sight, but less convenient if you need to plug/unplug often.

Battery life doesn't seem great (maybe 6 hours of real use), likely because of higher-res display and H-series processor. It may improve after I do a clean install of Windows.

ETA: The 14p has both IR facial recognition and fingerprint reader, you can set up either or both for Windows Hello. They both work great. I like that the FP reader built into the power button "saves" your print to log you into Windows - just one press to power on and about 10-15 seconds later you're in the desktop.

Also, for some reason Conservation Mode was initially missing from Lenovo Vantage. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, now the setting is available. With earlier ThinkBooks charging stopped at 55-60%, now it's 75-80%, which probably makes sense for most users. (ThinkPads allow you more fine-grained control, e.g., stop at 80% but start only if below 50%.)

Did you get the 6600U elitebook, thought it was the 6800U?

I won't get to play with mine until next Monday. But which one will you keep, or like better?

I got the 845 G8 with 6600U. They're both excellent. The ThinkBook feels more premium and has a sharper (but dimmer) display, it came with much higher specs and a 3 year warranty for nearly the same price (after credit card offer) as the HP, and it has better speakers (the HP's speakers rattle a bit sometimes). The HP has better battery life. I'm going to keep both as I do have a use for the second computer (which will be the EliteBook). The one concern I had before buying the ThinkBook - heat and fan noise from the H-series processor - turned out not to be an issue, it's a very cool- and quiet-running laptop.

BTW the ThinkBook came with a Realtek wifi card, and as expected it's awful. I'm replacing with an Intel AX210.

Awesome! Looking forward to playing with this.

You've used the AX210 before? Seems like that's the one to get. I think I saw someone post to get it on eBay.

I've used the AX210 (and other Intel wifi cards) before, yes get it on eBay, around $15-20. With the Realtek card the speeds are all over the place, never an issue with Intel.
