I would skip the 6 series and go for the 7 series. Too many problems

Probably because Pixel 7's have been hovering around that price for a month now straight from google or another reputable seller. I'm not gonna buy a phone from some random internet stranger when I can get it for essentially the same price from amazon or best buy

Are you planning to use them underwater? Technically majority of used phones will develop these issues since seals wear out in sim card tray, speakers especially if someone blows compressed air to clean them and even from constant flexing stress. They get away by saying those things even for new phones I think by twisting some definitions like for example that they said it's water "resistant" not water proof or that you took it too deep etc.
Majority will probably deny any warranty if they see those water strips turn red anyways even if phone is new, unless additional warranty that covers water damage is paid for the device.

The black is actually $314 for me. I would get one if I needed a phone and if Google had decent resell or trade-in values. I have a new pixel 7 I need to sell and no one wants to give me at least $450 for it.
How much did you pay for the 7?

If you take it out running or hiking or camping or any sort of outdoor activity, you want some assurance that a few drops of rain aren't going to ruin your day. When you're 70 miles away from your car and reach in your pocket to find a dead phone, it's something you look for when you buy your next one

If someone interested in Pixel 7 I'm sure they can find the good offers and deals just like you did especially with trade in values they have been giving. Later though if they stop it might be a different story especially once new one comes out and Google hopefully does good offers with previous models as trade ins it might be a best time to take advantage.
Honestly though majority of my friends whenever I mention Pixel are like "what's that". Google had few models that shined but there were some bad ones as well especially when they used LG as manufacturer.

Great as a camera, terrible as a phone. I imagine there are a ton of these "renewed" out there, including the 3x defective ones I sent back.

Right? Black Friday Pixel deals were stellar. Walmart iphone was $200. Google was letting you trade that for $484. So just off the surface you were spending $216 for a Pixel 7 with minimal work. The 7 Pro could be had for $425 if you traded at Best Buy.

If you were lucky, you also got a pixel fan code for $100 coupon and 10% off for Google 1 2 TB subscribers that dropped the price further . . .so future pixel buds pro purchases will be close to free or if you go with a pixel watch.

So no surprise the resell value on these tanked. Google put a lot of em out there and now word of mouth and good feedback will help them popularize the Pixel name for the future.

Have a 7 and as much as I would like that wonderful camera on the Pro, the size here is as big as I wanna go for a daily driver phone. 7 has been solid.

I have a 6Pro with a broken screen and broken rear glass that protects the camera lenses. $500 to have an iFixit type place fix it. Or like $300 for me to fix it (I never did one). This might be a cheaper way to "fix" mine.

FYI, new phones aren't guaranteed either. IP68 is not waterproof, merely water "resistant". No OEM will warranty a phone with water damage whether new, refurb or renewed.

IP68 literally means 6(solid)=Dust tight, no ingress of dust for two to eight hours and 8(water)= protection against the effects of immersion in water under pressure for long periods. LG covered my G5 for water damage twice Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

And I've had Samsung and Apple deny. Thousands of others have been denied also for similar damage. Check the OEM forums, XDA or Reddit if you don't believe. Good that you got covered, but make no mistake, you're the exception rather than the rule.

Edit: and just for clarity, the G5 didn't have an iP68 rating. That started with the G6
