I'm a longtime Nova Launcher Prime patron, and still use it on my S22 Ultra. They were acquired by the analytics company Branch earlier this year. Just wondering how much development will go into product improvement going forward and how much data they intend to collect about their users.

Dont buy this, its a trap. Nova sold to an analytics company. They want to data harvest you, launchers are very valuable and get a ton of info from you.
Use something like Pear Launcher instead that doesnt spy on you.
ALWAYS read up on app permissions and privacy policies before you install.

From searching SD, it looks like this has gone on sale for $1 every year in December.

Now, after being acquired by a data analytics company, it goes on sale for 50 cents.

Kinda makes a fella wonder.

I'd be curious to know what kind of data they have access to as a launcher. I tried searching at some point but couldn't find any good write ups.

Bought this launcher in 2011 for $0.99 one for myself one for dad, still using it and happy that each time all my new phones have the same view.

Was my go-to for many years but switched to Niagara launcher and will never go back. It has loads of customizability and much more sleek.
Downloaded Niagara in beta years ago. Decided to try it again on your recommendation now.

Not sure I like it compared to my OOS 13 but we'll see

Add me to the list of Nova launcher fans. Does exactly what I need a launcher to do, and then some.

It hardly has loads of customization options compared to other launchers, like Nova. I actually use Niagara as my launcher and have for over a year , and the lack of customization is my biggest criticism of it.

Gotta love all the tin-foil-hat-wearing conspiracy theorists' fear-mongering. There is absolutely no evidence that the analytics company that bought it is doing anything nefarious, at least so far.

I've been using this seemingly forever.

There's nothing like paying to be the product eh?

Nope, I tried it. Pear Launcher is so basic.

I've been a long time user but have been considering other options for that the reasons you mentioned. One thing that didn't bother me before but now does, is that in order to show you notification counts, the app requests permission to read ALL of your notifications. That's kind of a deal breaker for me now. Frown

Highly recommend it. Definitely check out their website and maybe even watch a YouTube video or two to see how people have customized it because right out of the box you are probably going to think it's stupid and too simple but there is a lot behind the scenes you can do
I tried Niagara and I think it sucks. Not user friendly at all. It's such a weird launcher. People shouldn't have to study up on YouTube to figure out how to use their launcher.

If someone made a launcher without the data privacy issues and working on foldable phones, I'd pay $7 for it.

It has a lot of the same features that Nova does like gestures so it was a match for me, but it doesnt have as much as Nova can do. I havent tried the Pro version of it the free one was good enough for me.
