Got a couple phones in the past. (They've been running this promo on and off forever.)
Nightmarish experience:

- Even corporate store employees covertly tacked multiple extras onto my account (worth $80/month) despite my saying outright that I wanted the cheapest plan with no extras
- My metro app is broken
- website is broken
- porting numbers out was an adventure
- stores and employees are sketchy, but will require you to show your ID

Will not do it again. Too much aggravation, risk, and hassle.
Beware that it probably won't be a smooth ride for you.

What is the drawer trick?

And what about those folks who do not have any corporate store around?

Dealers are charging activation, insurance and tax on full price of the phone. Making this deal almost $200 OTD.

Buy two of this and hope you can get it before end of this year.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/28503028...SwAPdjaWv0

If you get them before end of 2022, you can activate one of them first and begin a new tracfone award account with a refereral code. Then add 2 devices to
it. With all of these, you should get 25k rewards points pending. In case you get them after end of 2022 and tracfone stop the 10k per line promotion, you need
to activate one of them first and add all left 3 devices later. Then you should get 26k rewards points pending.

After 2 months the rewards points vest, you need to monitor these 2 urls:

https://www.tracfone.com/phone/ap...gb-prepaid

https://www.tracfone.com/phone/ap...onditioned

Whenever they are in stock, just change your 20k reward points to a $300 discount coupon.
If it's a new phone, you only need to pay $30 + $10 (for service).
If it's a reconditioned, you can buy two and then pay $30 + $20 (for service).

Activate the iPhone after you get them and they will automatically get unlocked after another 2 months.

So it will take you around $150 and 4-5 months in total to get either a new iPhone 11 or two reconditioned iPhone 11.

At same time, you also got several years Tracfone service and several basic phones.

I was also charged tax on the $50 after rebate price, not the $500. Total was $124-ish out the door, paid the $9 insurance so they waived activation, this was at a corporate store in a ghetto area.

Now how do I switch back to my unlocked Pixel 6a? Is it as simple as pulling out the sim from the iphone11 and plugging into the Pixel 6a?

edit*

Well I tried to switch back to the Pixel 6a on Metro's website, says the Pixel is compatible but not the $60 plan, but it doesn't specify which plan is compatible.
Oh boy, unless you didn't care about unlocking the iphone for later use you were not supposed to use that sim card (line) on a different device. Also metro doesn't let you swap phones that easily, you need to give them a call and you provide the IMEI, there's normally a $20 fee involved for that but sometimes they also waive it

Deal worked flawlessly, $132 out the door after tax. Purchased a boost sim from an aforementioned ebay seller and metro was able to port this in a matter of minutes. Maybe this was so easy because I walked in at 15 min before closing for the holiday (thinking they closed at 8....Im not that much of a degenerate) but walked out at closing with my new iphone 11. Guy at the corporate store I worked with was professional but gave me no troubles. Shit maybe I will end up sticking with the metro plan for the long term haha. easy peasy just have your port-able boost mobile number, pin and account number from the ebay sellers when you get to metro and you are good to go.

My plan was to trade-in the iphone11 in this deal for a Pixel 7Pro on Google Fi's network, but even if that trade-in falls through, doesn't Metro PCS unlock this iphone automatically after 180 days? I don't plan on being with Metro PCS after my 30 days are up, was going to switch to Google FI or port this number back to ATT.

I haven't switched sim cards yet, so I need to call them? I paid cash for this deal like others mentioned, how would they even collect $20 for switching fones Big Grin

Lol exactly what I'm doing right now, and yes the phone is supposed to unlock automatically after ~180 days but there are also reports that removing sim card from device affects the unlock process, and it's not like you can contact Metro when you haven't been a customer for the past 5 months
I have no idea how they collect the $20, maybe they make you give them a credit card when you give them a call to swap phones. Either way I wouldn't risk all the trouble use to use data on your other device for the next month, however you can definitely give them a call and see what they say

They actually had a good deal last year or the year before where it was $25 for unlimited data, problem is Metro being sketchy MVNO that is starts gives you messages that your plan is not compatible once you want to swap devices, add lines and such

I went to a metro corporate store today with a boost mobile number purchased from ebay.
The employee I spoke to first was inexperience or new or something. Kept saying that it's $200 and I'll get that back in 3 months. When I told him it wasn't what the promotion said then he called over his manager. I said I was interested in the iphone 11 switch promotion and I have a number to port over.
the manager asked what the port in number is from. when i told him it is from boost, he asks if it was mine. I said it was and then he said if he was to call it right now, will it ring on my phone. i told him it's mine but i don't use it on the phone I had with me. He then said the promo is only for at&t and verizon number and he will only let me purchase the phone if I was porting in the number currently on my phone that I had with me at the time (and he will check by calling it before initiating the port).
I told him I wasn't interested in porting in the number I had with me. He asked for my ID. After entered in all the info (I never had metro, never purchased anything from metro under my name) then told me the boost number I provided was invalid, the pin was invalid. He said because I provided invalid information so he denied the sale.
The another Boost corporate store is an hour away, which i can try another day. But is there a chance that me put something under my name and info that would tell other stores to deny me the promo?
Yeah, it was a really bad experience. He kept pressing me and implying that I was conducting an illegal or fraudulent activity by wanting to take part in the promo they have.

Damn I thought it was going to be ez-pz like with ATT and Google FI, I can switch sims into any compatible fone at any time with those 2 networks, no need to call. This the last time I'm dealing with ghetto ass Metro.

And don't even think about getting an iphone 14, apple got the great idea of removing the sim tray card and make everything esim. While it is true it is very convenient to have up to 10 esim cards available in your device guess what happens when you one to swap devices? Yupp same nonsense, welcome back to the days of Sprint CDMA when carrier needs to have your IMEI registered and approve the device before you can get service on your new phone

the moment he asked you if the phone would ring if he dialed your device you were done for. Basically these people get bad metrics and less or no commission if customers don't stay with Metro after 30 days, so at that point he knew you were only interested on getting the phones and leave after the first month

Also each store manager can make all their arbitrary rules to deny a promotion, make insurance a requirement, accessories etc, very often it's like dealing with car salesmen

how did you add devices to the account?
I added a line to my account using "add device" option on the app. i got a new number from tracfone on the new line. I don't see 10,000 points for it.
my account now has 2 lines but only 5000 points pending.
how is it supposed to be added?
thanks

Problem is I only have 1 number with ATT and I used it to port over to Metro for this deal. Plus I'm planning to trade-in the iPhone 11 to Google FI for the ridiculous $330 + $250 bonus so I won't have the iPhone for much longer, I'll need to swap fones either way. I'm thinking of porting the current Metro line over to Google FI right now so I don't have to deal with Metro's BS, is there an amount of time I need to stay with Metro?

Thanks OP! Everything went as stated except for the corporate store stating I had to pay for the $10 insurance. I didn't argue about it due to them being helpful porting a Google Voice number I created while in the store, after my QLink Wireless number wouldn't port. I just had to pay Google $3 to unlock the number and have a pretty new iPhone now. Happy New P̶h̶o̶n̶e̶ Year!

Ii currently use my personal number in metropcs. I have a number from straight talk that I would port to get the iPhone 11. After 30 days, would I be able to use my personal number on the iPhone 11 and not affect the unlocking process?
