When can we have 8TB SSD for $250? And when can we have a Synology tiny NAS with 4 SSDs? Just love the advancement of technology (Paid $550 for a 512GB SSD in 2013)

I would suggest to buy an SSD enclosure with 10Gbps speed. I made this mistake when I bought Samsung T7 2TB. Now I am no longer using the external one. I wish I could use that in my Synology for read/write cache. But now I have to pay again.

You know there is a deal for a 118GB Optane drive for $66 right now. Which is like what that is designed for.

As we subsidize big tech.. 8 and 15tb sizes are coming to the m.2 2280 standard maxing out at 128tb by 2036. Dont hold your breath for affordability though they are in the design & testing phases for densities up to 64tb now. Assuming most favorable outcomes for world peace and moderate economic recovery. 2028 at the earliest for 8tb m.2 2280 gen 6/7 @ 20,000MB/sec

I personally wouldn't use such an expensive drive as a cache for synology. Something like high endurance enterprise drive or optane is up your alley as a cache.

Not bad at all regarding the price... I'm curious to know what's the max storage capacity the PS5 will accept.

Believe for the internal m2 expansion it's 4tb based on current firmware.

Should be plenty though.. To last us through the current console generation, but yea the upcoming 2023 roster of hits will certainly stress this Smilie

You know if you need more space u could just buy another ps5 for the price of this ssd. Doubt if u have two ps5 you will be running out of storage.
