Hell, I have my stuff backed up twice, sometimes three times for the important stuff.
WD Passport for basically everything. That's my "dump" drive. Regularly defragged/scanned. Holds all the media one could desire (Demo/Belle, I have a hidden folder you'd probably REALLY like...it involves 3 letters...
8gb Cruzer for important files/os installations...etc. Basically use this for clearing out people's drives for fresh installs.
8gb microsd in my phone for documents/files that I need on me at all times (work, court...etc stuff mostly).
I've never lost a file when my drive has acted up because of this.
