I have this headset, it also works on PS4 and PS4 Pro and PS5. But I guess since it's not licensed they don't say that, or they want you to buy the 7P instead.
This headset is great because its one headset for all devices.

I managed to find a code for paypal10 (10 off 50 using paypal) so that got it closer and I pulled the trigger. Now I just hope it works with Linux :-) so I can use the same headset for xbox and PC.

I have 2 of the 7x and just bought the PS one, because we needed an extra and these were on sale.
I believe the difference is type C and 30hr battery life. Also, you are not buying them directly from SteelSeries which they have poor customer service and a pain to deal with. I personally been eyeing them just because of the type c port.

You have it reversed. The reason there is an Xbox version is because Microsoft uses a proprietary wireless protocol for headsets. This headset actually works on the PS5 and PS4. That's the difference between them just the colors and having the wireless dongle work with the Xbox. Weird they just don't make one model since they are generally the same exact price. 😅
