This chromebook has been generating excitement as one of the first to feature the Alder Lake hybrid i3 CPU. Most chromebooks based around Atom CPUs do plenty fine for basic productivity. Additionally, most chromebooks based around i-series CPUs tend to offer even better performance. Here, then, comes the i3 blending two i-series cores alongside 4 "efficiency" Atom-based cores and delivering (almost unsurprisingly) some amazing performance.
All of this is then wrapped up in a 16" touch screen - and consider that the chromebook category is one where screens over 14" tend to command a premium (traditional Windows laptops often see discounting on commodity 15.6" and 17" platforms).
An amazing, premium-ish chromebook that, if we're lucky, should see a few more discounts before it locks in the final slick deal of a price.
Good luck!

The 4 speaker is great and loud. It charges over USB-C instead of a DC barrel jack. 16:10 screen is good too. As an outsized Android tablet it's great. With 8GB RAM and 12th gen i3 it should be great for years - auto update expiration is 2030)
Note, the screen is rather yellowish and chrome OS doesn't have settings to correct that. Plug in an external monitor and you'll see the difference. Without side by side comparison though I might not notice.
The touchpad feels hollow and cheap which could be a deal breaker for some.
My copy does have issue with the micro SD card slot that the card doesn't stay in, and I need to hold it in place when copying files. At this price though I didn't return it.
Good luck!
