The general build quality seems good (I have nothing to compare it to, I don't row) however the foot straps seem cheap and this model doesn't have the adjustment on the handle bars like the other Echelon models. I thought that would be an issue stopping and turning the knob for resistance but it wasn't really. You don't change that much during the classes like with the bike.
From a newb who just wants to dip their toe in the water (get it?) I am happy with the purchase and would buy again. Right now I really like rowing, but if I like it still in a year then I can look into more serious options.

I have the Concept 2 and the SkiErg and both are amazing complimentary movements.
If I can only have one, which one provides better exercise - exercise bike or this exercise rower?

I guess the only thing giving me pause is the brand of the bike being so unfamiliar (and generic) - reviews seem good tho ...

"Don't be mislead by the incentivized reviews
Bought this on cyber monday for $297 thinking it was a solid deal. It was delivered quickly and was pretty easy to put together. The build quality is good short of the phone holder which feels like it will wear out rather quickly with heavy use. The machine rows nicely and is somewhat easy to stow and move around. The good ends there. First you realize you cant use the app without making an account which you can't do from the app. Then you try to make an account but it prompts you to choose a membership. Stop there and just sign into the app. Dont be fooled into thinking you have to select the free membership to continue. The app is pretty basic and useless without a membership. You have to select the free workout from the extras menu to start. The bluetooth syncs up rather easily but the light flashes the brightest most obnoxious blue so I ended up putting tape over it. Once connected it will show your stats, but they are super small and at the bottom of the screen. The majority of the screen is taken up by ads for the membership classes. It was too small for my phone so I had to grab an old iPad to really see the stats. Sometimes the stats dont work or dont display correctly. In that case you have to disconnect the bluetooth and try again. I have no idea how accurate the data is but I find it hard to believe it's correct with how buggy it is. The resistance doesn't go all that high and they imprinted their name on the top of the metal track so the wheel feels like its rolling over dirt or something a lot of the time. I'm 6'4" and I tend to bump the back of the track which is annoying and takes me out of the groove. I wouldnt buy it again. Just hoping it will keep me active during the cold months in Ohio. I'd return it but it will be impossible to put back in the box and is too large for my car. Gonna suck it up in the meantime and chalk it off as a lesson learned."

With it being magnetic resistance, you won't have remotely the same resistance as an air, however this will be far quieter, it's the trade off.
