For any theater people, this star is great to use in set production because the star has a long stick coming from the bottom with a sturdy hair clip at the bottom so you'd be able to secure it sideways or even upside down if needed. It's nice enough for a tree topper but the real star of the show, no pun intended, is how surprisingly sturdy it is.

We've had this exact star for a few years now. The motor in it has gotten louder and louder over the years. Now that we are taking down our decorations I'm going to look and see if I can just grease the gears inside if not I'll most likely replace it. Just kind of a heads up for people as it's loud enough to be noticed and semi annoying.

Be careful with these. Just threw out the silver version for getting way too hot for being on a christmas tree.

the projection on the ceiling rotates so I guess thats the motor. I notice mine is getting louder too, but it is super cute so I may just buy a backup for when this one conks out.

I have one that is two years old, and I don't have a problem with the motor, yet..

Maybe I should buy one as a backup. It's really neat

It is thick though, but I have very high ceilings, and the projector works well

I bought this one when it was half off the day after Christmas. It's really pretty in person and projects multi colored lights on the ceiling. I put a bow on the front to cover the clear plastic holder on the base.

What does it project? Stars?

I have one that shows a snowman, Santa, etc.. But our ceilings are a bit low to see the designs large.

Anyone else have experience with these getting too hot? I am actually in need of a new tree topper because our old one was getting very hot. I figured one with LEDs should run cooler..
