I have one that looks just like this from Sam's, don't think it was the same brand/model name (and I don't think mine has the usb/power outlet). Delivery was fine, trying to get it returned by pickup was a shitshow of them telling me someone was coming, and they never came. So I kept it. I had wanted to return it because it was horribly uncomfortable (full disclosure: I have back and knee problems, maybe the comfort level would've been better for others, but I need good support of back and legs).

BUT after I added a thick feather duvet to the seat, a pillow to the back and a large cushion to the footrest so that my feet were supported a little longer length than the footrest itself, it actually has become pretty comfy. The footrest is still on the short side, but I enjoy using the chair for a couple hours a night.
Curious why you'd recommend that with faux leather? My experience has always been tearing, flaking, and overall shortened lifespan with anything like that.
I bought these last sale. I love them. They're comfy. Need a pillow though for a head rest. I'm 5'9, taller might find them a little short. One thing to keep in mind is how far back they recline. I bought 5 but had to return two because of how far the chair expands in the full recline position. Delivery was from FedEx, dropped in front of garage. You need to attach the back to the chair, which was simple. Overall, I recommend.

faux, gel, and other "like-leather-but-not" seating is great for a bargain you will look at and sit in a few times a year.

for anything you will spend time, get in and out of, it will flake and peel.

much better off buying higher quality second hand.. unless you are fine with throwing this away when it peels, covering it up (multiple people in this thread have already said they are adding pillows and covers to this anyway so may be fine that way), or dont plan to be in your home/appt for more than a couple years and wont move it anyway. All that or just get a fabric based, not fake leather, seat. Just try not to spill or get popcorn grease in it.

For moderate quality seating, 500$ per chair is the bottom of price with decent leather coming in around 800-1000$ per seat.. but certainlty no need to spend 3000$ per seat.

I never worked in textiles, but have made the mistake of buying crap pleather, and obsessively researched for my media room. I ended up best of both worlds.. patience awarded BRAND new 1000$ per seat , real leather, second hand for 850$ for all 4... probably fell off a truck but got 4 seats for the price of one.

Bought and returned. Cannot watch TV comfortably. Once the feet are elevated, the back is too reclined to watch TV properly. Unless you're just going to nap in this better off getting a model that has recline and adjustable headrest.

Seatcraft, Valencia, Calton or Zayne from Costco.

Your local quality furniture store will likely be much higher price (and probably quality)

And note if you don't require leather, you can get more chair for the money. Fabric will last if you don't spill on it.

That's funny, Walmart did the exact same thing to me on a bed frame. Exactly. It was scratched up and stained different colors. They repeatedly told me they were coming for it, I packed it up and moved it in and outside multiple times based on their direction. Chirping crickets, then they tried claiming they never told me they were coming.

However, I fought them and did a successful chargeback. Too difficult to get rid of it so I ended up polishing it up, keeping it around and using it. Now I like it, other than the mismatched colors.

I bought 2 a few weeks ago for the home theater. They're great and have a ton of power outlets but I wouldn't put more than 250 lbs on it if you want the power reclining to work according to plan.

Do you by chance have a online link of the feather duvet and seat cushion? I might buy both of those, lol

I mean nothing is real leather under like 3000$ 😆
Costco model was top grain leather for $300 on clearance. These were referenced in the same avsforum thread. These are junk by comparison

I bought six for a theater room 30 months ago from Sam's Club for the same price. I sit in one for 4+ hours a day while working on my laptop, and my family uses them quite a bit. Although I rotate which seat I use, I have not had any problems with the motors, frames, or the faux leather in that time.

I do expect the bonded 'leather' to eventually start to peel, but nothing so far, which is better than I was expecting. As for appearance, they look great and are very comfortable. I do use a thin pillow to support my head a bit more when in them for a long time.

They recline really far back, but not quite enough to be near flat if trying to sleep through the night on them. The bonded leather has a nice leathery feel, and while I know it isn't real leather, it doesn't really feel synthetic, like a cheap office chair's bonded leather. Hope that makes sense.

One seat has failed on the USB charger, but I think one of my kids was less than gentle with it. The trays are nice, but require the post to be screwed or unscrewed when moving them from the arm rest storage to the mount. It would be nice if they could engineer a system that let them fit in the storage without manually unscrewing the post. However it can be attached/detached by hand, no tools required, so it is pretty easy.

Hope this helps my fellow Slickdealers.

These are the same chairs they have at one of my local theaters, they don't fully extend the footrest, so your legs dangle a bit. I can tell you, these are not very comfortable, as far as the recline position, I usually just stay seated upright when I go to this theater. I prefer having my legs elevated and fully supported in a recliner, not just 1/3 of the way up, dangling. From other people posting, it sounds like these are very inconsistent, some say they recline too far. In my experience that is not the case, the back reclines further than the foot rest goes up. Lack of leg support is a total deal breaker for me.

I have this chair. It's not great. The foot rest doesn't lock into place when extended so it moves anytime you put any pressure on it. The little table will be wobbly and unstable within a few days and it's generally uncomfortable. It's not height issue. My whole family is under 5'8".

You think it's real non mixed leather because you google it and thay say so. I can tell you have never worked in textiles.
If it says top grain or full grain leather, it is real leather, not mixed or bonded with anything. If it says bonded, faux, or genuine then it is either fake leather or scraps of leather glued together.

I worked in the leather industry for over a decade.

Most real leather chairs (aka full or top grain) are only real on the touch surfaces (so the seat, backrest, and arms). The sides and the back are usually PU, or some leather match faux leather. For most folks this will be good enough and last them many many years with no issues, and can be found easily on sale for $500-$1000. Now if you have money burning a hole in your pocket and want 100% leather on every surface, that is where your $2000+ chairs come in. Very little need for real leather where no one will be touching 99% of the time.

I would never buy anything fake leather on the seating surface, no matter the price if it is an item that gets regular use. It will be cracking and peeling in a year or two. Fabric will be better in those cases where one can't afford real leather on the seating.

I would say it depends on a couple of variables. I have a dedicated theater room and have the faux leather and it's been great the past 5+ years and no issues at all.
If you are sitting in it every day, obviously more use and abuse and you could have issues.
If you regularly treat the couches with conditioner, that really helps the longevity.
