Same, I probably bought like a dozen sets of these to give to people for Xmas a few years back when they were $22 each.

Easy to store, useful around the house because 90% of the time, you don't need a ladder.

This price isn't that great though.
Bought this 3 years ago for $25 from Home Depot. For doing ceiling work like hanging lights, finishing drywall, etc. this is the ticket. It's much better than a stepladder or something similar.

Don't let it freeze in the mud outside overnight and you'll be good.
I bought this on a whim a few years back on here.

They are amazing.

If you're short you feel like a giant.

Just got mine last week from the last deal and TBH it's super flimsy. I weigh about 215 and hand me a little unsure.
Might try to return it after my project is over

These are great, however I ordered another one on New Year's Day and it still hasn't arrived. HD support blames fed ex, fed ex claims they never received the package. Food for thought.

I can't believe how expensive they got. I only paid 20 bucks a few years back. And I don't even use and sits in the corner. I think there's better ideas out there for the amount they want now

1.9 trillion went directly to individuals. 1.8 Trillion went to businesses and a percentage of that went to pay employees that did not have work to do but to keep them employed. Tons of scam money went to businesses no doubt. You can say the same about individuals, plenty of people got money did not lose their jobs, had steady income and had no direct financial impact. You can send that money back. The value of money went down, prices go up.

And Home Depot made $16,430,000,000 in profit last year. A 28% year over year increase.

Oh look I can source these step stools for $8 a pop from China (https://m.alibaba.com/product/604...d-Job.html). I'm sure Home Depot probably gets them even cheaper (economies of scale). But I guess a 500% mark up is a-ok with you.

But do continue your Econ 101 lecture about money supply πŸ˜‚

Buy them from Alibaba in bulk and sell them on ebay or on Amazon for a huge profit. No one is stopping you from reaping the huge rewards of getting involved in retail and getting in on the action except yourself.
Home depot had great profits last year. Because people did not travel or vacation the last two years and instead spent their excess money buying things for their house. Rental cars and airline profits were negative and Marriott profits were 1/3 and 2/3 what they were in 2019. Forecast is for those to flip this year. What's your point?

His point was that your username is appropriate given the context and how many words you used vs what was said.

That corporate profiteering contributes more toward inflation than your money supply argument. Home Depot made $11,200,000,000 in 2019 and $11,000,000,000 in 2018. All before Covid. Notice the number keeps going up? I wonder why that is? Perhaps because goods they buy for $5 and used to sell for $25 in 2018/2019 (what many people in this thread have confirmed) they now sell for $45…

Are these the same that were $25 at Home Depot for Christmas in 2019? I bought one back then and haven't used it once...other than using it as a bench to do work on my car. It worked awesome for that, especially with a seat cushion.

I wish everyone would stop whining about what they bought it for in the past. Unless you have a time machine, this is the current price.

However I do agree it's much higher now!
C'mon bro. People sharing their info is whining to you?
If it bothers you, don't read it then.

this is just another example of hd and lowes pushing the people as far as they could with excessive pricing, and finally when people hint their limit, they drop the price and everyone thinks they are getting a great deal--i was lucky enough to pick up a couple when they were 222
