I feel like it gets asked in every hard drive deal. It just needs to be a gen 4 drive. I noticed no difference in speed between my cheap Chinese gen 4 drive and my brothers Samsung gen 4 drive. Both PS5's work fine, same speed for the most part. My cheap one will probably die out quicker but it was half the price. It's just games, I'll re-download them if need be. I don't have a heatsink, and mine has been fine for about the year I owned it. I play everyday for most part. I understand I'm one person, and many other things can happen but this was my experience.
SLC is single layer cell. T is triple. Q is quad. M is multiple but it's often used to refer to two layers.
The more layers the cheaper it is but the slower writes get and the lower the endurance.
The mp34 1tb is still available at $58 on Amazon. That is a better because it's TLC with dram. It has a much higher endurance rating and should be similar or faster than the p3. Both the p3 and p3 plus are qlc with no dram.

Why the negs? Looks like a good enough price for a 1TB NVMe SSD

Does the 500gb gen 4 have DRAM?
Is this a good option for the 12700k Asus z690 MC deals for a dedicated boot drive?

To be fair I forgot this was on sale and grabbed a TEAMGROUP MP34

(1TB with DRAM SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC NVMe1.3 Gen3x4 M.2 2280 R/W Speed up to 3,400/2,900 MB/s) yesterday for $7 less off Amazon.

And honestly they are close enough without reading a detailed review Tom's Guide or something about both, I'm cool with saving $7 dollars as either are major upgrades from the LITEON that came in my laptop.

Does it make sense to pay the extra 15?

Not a deal, I bought 1T version 2 weeks ago for $59 on Amazon. Even then it was not a FP deal.
To be fair, seems like it was.
$59.99 posted on 12/20, it was BB/BB via eBay, which Amazon likely matched.

(Also it wasn't me who gave you a thumbs down, just to avoid you coming back with that energy.)

Feel free to post it, since the SD Android app crashes every time I try.

Aside from that, I'm just happy to hear I made a good choice. As I can never remember the order of which *LC is better. Only that dram is good.

Thanks gotcha, S-M-T-Q.

I mostly went off seeing dram and review images showing speeds similar to advertised.

they can all have DRAM (depending on the controller), but adding DRAM increases the cost, go figure. then, for the DRAM-less SSD, they have this "caching" scheme where it uses portion of the SSD as cache, and that explains why as you fill up the SSD, it gets slower (less free space for your SSD to doing caching).
