Most of the time the return the first tv and repurchase it at the lower price. Thus the new receipt would reflect the current date. Then you would have to fight the credit card company to honor the warranty.
AFAIK, Costco's price adjustment is just that - they simply give you the difference back, but the original sales date stays the same. I did this once and took forever as they had to find the calculator to figure out the difference in price and tax. Then they wrote everything down in some paper spreadsheet.

If you do return/rebuy (ideally, rebuy/return in case of stock issues or their refusal to sell you the returned item) it will affect the warranty as it will be a new receipt and date.

It's even worse than that. There's no additional warranty from using the credit card starting 1/22/23.

These are regular last BF prices coming back again. I was keeping an eye on 85" Sony X90k and Samsung QN85 mini LED and both of those were the same price as advertised now. So, not much of a deal. I am glad I pulled the trigger on the 85" X90K from Buydig when Ebay ran the 15% off promo. Combined with Chase 5% cashback via Paypal, that came out to be around 1700$ out the door price. Current Costco deal for the same TV will go over 2150$ for most places with Tax. Not to mention no more additional warranty from Costco.
I agreed this is the same price of BF, and because of inflation, it is considered a deal now.

The solution is simple. Buy now with CITI card and PM later. As long you received the TV by 1/21/23, your are eligible for 2 years extended warranty.

I'm curious, what ever happened to true SDers now?

Damn wanted an airfryer sale
For the sales they had on Gourmia's at BF I would've expected their January delivery to go towards the Big Game sale before Lunar New Year shutdowns in China.

Agree. Isn't worth the trip to Costco.
They have the best prices on some food items. Imported cheese, plantain chips, mineral sparkling water (and naughty, big bags of chocolate). We run through manchego, gruyere, cheddar, parmiggiano at our place so it's worth it for the cheese alone. Now they're not the best cheeses of their kind but they are actual authentic imports of their respective country. Beyond that, there are plenty of front page Costco deals on random items.

Also some people look as it as a game. Or just it's built into their mind they have to get the best deal it bothers them if they don't.

I'm like that ….. Caveat emptor is a Latin phrase that translates to "let the buyer beware."

Same with elections and medical choices.

Meh. Decent prices but no amazing deals here.

Though I suppose it's good that prices for large electronics have held steady despite the supply chain problems and double-digit inflation we've been experiencing lately.

Well luxury goods like OLED TVs should have price drops as so many people will have to spend their money on necessities like food, gas and won't have the extra income to purchase things like OLED TVs.

Thus creating larger inventories just sitting in storage. Hopefully companies will be forced to drop prices on these things to move them.
LMAO that's not how it works any more. Haven't you noticed that there are fewer and fewer post-seasonal clearances every year? That the big 75% off after Christmas decorations sales at Target and Walmart are a thing of the past?

All the major chains have switched to a "just in time" fulfillment method where they have sales forecasters predict exactly how much they'll need and then send the stores only what they need for the next couple of weeks. Walmart and Costco don't buy in massive bulk and have big warehouses full of stuff sitting around, they have what's in the store and that's it.

That's what caused all the weird shortages of stuff like toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic. All the stores and their suppliers only had enough and were only making enough to support normal buying habits. When people's buying habits changed due to being in lockdown the system couldn't react fast enough because retailers would rather sell out and NOT have an item to sell to someone at full price than take the chance that they would have a big warehouse full of excess inventory that they have to sell at a loss.

I was hoping for a better deal on the LG C2 77". Oh well, I probably should wait a few months more anyway.
Amazon has a better version of the TV (PUA). And 0% fiance for 12 months

Thanks. I don't want any of that. laugh out loud Think I tried the sparkle water once.

I did wait 4 years to buy a TV. laugh out loud Didn't have a TV before that, just didn't need and didn't want it.

In short, I cut down a lot of things I purchase. Mostly stick to MY essential need.

While I don't disagree with your premise, I do disagree with your examples. I just bought plenty of after-Christmas overstock at Walmart for 50%, then 75%, and finally 90% off yesterday.

That's not how price adjustments work at Costco. You aren't returning the item and there's no new purchase date (that's certainly not in their best interest anyway).

They are suggesting a method to game the warranty system, not adjust the price.

These are not good prices. C3 will be released soon and these will drop more than the C1 did in 2022. Less computers were sold last quarter by 28% since they started tracking this in 1990.

Also buy Samsung and enjoy the low light reflection life.
