I guess LotR is going to be like Star Wars where they will re-release it a hundred times and people will just continue to buy it.

In my theater room I'm still waiting for 4K to become affordable as I paid $700 in 2019 for a light cannon (Epson 2150) that uses $59 bulbs and provides an extremely immersive experience on a $229 contrast enhancing 100" screen from 10 and 1/2 ft away to my 48 yr old eyes 🤷 I'm hoping 100in 4K TVs eventually come down in price otherwise I will eventually replace the projector with a 4K (pixel shift or native) one. But because I watch an unbelievably large amount of media lasers worry me So I am coasting along on my affordable light cannon. That coupled with preferring the theatrical cuts means this deal is tailor made for me. So I will say thank you OP in for one ❤️ 🔥
Just an FYI to those with 1080p displays buying discs. Using a 4K disc player to downscale to 1080p can result in higher quality than using the 1080p disc. This is especially true with newer titles where the HD master is more of an afterthought. Also, some of the remasters of old content have better, higher quality scans on the new 4K discs. Getting something like a Panasonic UB 420 to convert 4K HDR to SDR can result in some really good looking visuals.

This is the only way to see the movies. The extended versions, and the whole series all the way up to the Hobbit movies is like a fat 600 pound dude gorging themselves at the dinner table. Push away from the table and STOP eating. Just STOP.

I would guess that these ones do. It says they are remastered. I'm betting these are made from the 2020 4k discs' source material.
