This is far from the truth. Have you even played Smite? They pioneered the behind the back camera style of MOBA, it's way different than any other moba out at the time. Hence the popularity.

Not sure you even know what your taking about, they are very creative

Is this knockout game related to the spam ads I get on youtube for some cartoony tower defence, angry birds type of mobile game? The guy character looks like the same cartoon knight type guy. Doesn't look like the same type of cheazy mobile game though.

I played it all weekend on the PS5 and it's great. The PS5 is a more full version and has more characters. This free version has just 3 characters to pick from.

It's fun and IMO it's more fun than the other games in the genre. It's free, so no reason not to give it a try.

There are a lot of Smash clones, but this isn't one of them. This is more Smash inspired. It's 3d and not a 2d platformer. I'm sure it's not the first of it's kind, but it's not the same as those other games like Multiversus, or Brawlhalla, or Playstation All Stars or Kung Fu Panda, or Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl...

Actually, they were working on Paladins first, but being a small company they took longer and Overwatch got released first.

You missed a few "tributes": Rogue Company, their Counterstrike game, and Realm Royale, their PUBG game. That being said, a long time ago Tribes and Global Agenda were very cool games and both were original and creative. They hired the people who made Oblivion and Call of Duty. These free-to-play games may be unoriginal, but they're good for those who don't want or simply can't play their more expensive counterparts. I've played most of their games and they're all very fun, but the store aspects, while necessary for a business to run, are a turn-off for me.

Forgive me for not researching the names of these games, but last year I played two similar 3D brawlers. One was a wrestling-themed battle royale and the other was a food-themed deathmatch melee brawler.

They had been working on paladins way before overwatch same with smite they were side projects from global agenda when they wanted to make a sequel. Smite came from global agenda 2 alpha , and paladins came from the same place they were testing new game play mechanics and match types for global agenda and toying around with an ability based shooter which global agenda was back in 2010 way before overwatch 🤔.

They also modernized and refreshed mobas which in the beginning 2010s had click based targeting and some argued it required no skill since you never had to aim a thing. League literally redid their abilities to make them require skill

In addition to why tf does last hitting even a thing like sure it was on an old antiquated game engine but as a micro mechanic didn't display skill.

They had a great game with Tribes Ascend but they shut it down because they wanted to focus on their easy money copycat games.
