Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

How do they plan on selling their demo units that are above $55K? I see one currently listed for $55,060?

2019 Honda pilot. $500ded, comprehensive and collision 100k/300k from progressive is $254/6mo. New progressive quote replacing Honda for MYLR is $715/6mo. My agent is running this now across many insurance companies in case progressive is one of those anti Tesla insurance companies. The downside is I save 10% having auto as a multi discount plan with my homeowners.
Why is it so expensive?? For two drivers (one with a speeding tickets from 4 years ago), through Costco came out to $104/mo.

My biggest issue is you can't use enhanced autopilot properly, summon and autopark no longer work and people have been waiting till October for an update - if it ever comes cause tesla actually removed the sensors on new builds. Even if you don't want to use those features the sensors help with objects/distance.

When a Tesla goes into accident, it's mostly needing a replacement. The battery and electrical ain't cheap and ONLY TESLA can fix this. They're so blacked up that your insurance company would need to cover you rental car coverage for months or several at a time.

Service is so bad when you want it to be fixed is my understanding.

When I put in a quote with Tesla I ended up getting $115 for the same specs. Not saying you did anything wrong, just curious why there is such a large discrepancy.

I actually just noticed they wrote "/6mo" instead of "/mo". After that change it's much closer to the realm of normal!

I file my taxes jointly with my spouse. If the model y title has just my name, will we still get the credit of $7500?

I had one specifically labeled" Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement"
I believe that is what Tower is asking for with "Purchased order, including VIN.
I uploaded both MVPA and Motor Vehicle Order Agreement to Tower.
It wasnt showing me because i had selected and applied for tesla finance in app.. They said me to remove that and go with own financing then it showed up MVPA and 2 other documents.. Lamo Love Tesla

Just managed to snag a Y 7 seater but it wasn't my ideal color or interior. Had to get a new car asap since my Q7 was just totaled. Icing was the tax credit.

Why do all the 7 seater that come into inventory have the white interior? I'd think the people that buy the 7 seater tend to have kids.

What's up with Tower? I'm still confused why we have to send a specific power of attorney to get the loan with Tower. Other lenders don't do that. Anyone else concerned that power of attorney is needed for the auto loan?
