Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Does anyone has luck with changing the color and getting delivery fast? I ordered MY Long range Metallic silver but wanted to change it to White, worried this will push the delivery date further. Current delivery date is March 5 to 31st

My husband and I filed jointly and total AGI less than 300k. Can I get one rebate and one for my husband? Is there a limit of one per household?

Yes, but I'm paying $4000 for upgraded power, and not much else. Not worth it.
Take MYLR too, If only bec MYP has no 3rd row config and in turn lose that adjustable 2nd row seat. Wanna P, buy a 3.

Quote from foxblur :
So coming in March the IRS is expected to uphold the law's battery mineral (40%) and battery component (50%) in the US/free trade territories. Why did they allow this brief window where they weren't concerned?
The law says it will be enforced based on guidelines issued by the executive branch.

Those guidelines were never issued, so there's nothing to enforce yet.

The guidelines are now expected to be published in March and thus enforced from that date forward-- it's possible the date will slip further of course.

Quote from foxblur :
Moreover does anyone know if they do uphold these %'s if Tesla or really any manufacturer currently meet them?
Without knowing the guidelines it's impossible to answer that question.

That said, Tesla likely has the best chance of any EV maker to have at least some vehicles qualify since they have, by far, the most domestic production of battery cells and packs of any car maker.

Quote from mattymsu25 :
And regardless of the option you choose you 'still' won't own a sports car.
Of course not, the Y is an SUV.

Not sure how you got confused about that.

I mean, granted it's quicker than the vast majority of all vehicles ever sold and called sports cars, but it's still an SUV.

Quote from anithajones :
Can some one please clarify on why we have to get it by March to be qualified for tax credit? Will I be not qualified if I get it after March?
Because new guidelines on battery sourcing will be issued sometime in March that may change what vehicles are eligible for the full amount (if not qualified you'd only get half- $3750)

Quote from JohnJ5627 :
Also wanna know as well. It says during March would be changed. So by end of March if it's still ok?
"march" is all they've said, see further below for exact wording.

Quote from 19Deals :
Wanted to check with everyone on the ev credit date, does the information below means that the march cutoff date to qualify for $7500 no longer true?

Quote from Treasury Dept :
Treasury will issue a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in March with proposed guidance on the critical minerals and battery components requirements. By statute, the critical mineral and battery component requirements take effect only after Treasury issues that proposed rule.

It called Staggered fitment. Because of it, I bought MYLR instead of MYP.
I have been driving Lexus GS-350 F- Sport around 10 years now and it is Staggered fitment.
I hate it I hate it......yes, it drives well and traction is amazing. However, for the maintenance wise, it costs me more due to No rotation will be made. Also, tire warranty is half of normal, like if tire warranty is 50,000 miles then 25,000 miles. However, it will be worn out before reached the warranty milage. Also from my experience, MYP is much more harder and stiff feel. MYLR is softer and smoother.

Must Test drive both and choose wisely.
Thanks that's exactly what he said!
