Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Question: If you do not qualify for 7500 federal tax credit, would you buy now or wait until April with hole that Tesla will drop price in absence of tax credit? HW4 is attractive but who knows that will be available when

someone was told they are switching back to non-matrix in Fremont now..........Mad
I switched to the Performance variant.
MYP Silver / Black & White interior / includes Matrix headlights as standard equipment.
Looks like they charged me a base price of 56,990.
I plan on swapping out the 21" wheels for 20's.

If you reserved the MYLR before the first price hike (1/12 to 1/22), you can still upgrade to the MYP for only 56,990.

Does the current 7500 federal tax credit last till March 31st? Or ends on February 28th? I don't know where to find the exact date info.

Does the car have to be delivered by March or purchased by March to qualify for the tax credit?

Isn't it $2000, and then $2500 more if you are below? How do you get to $7500?
is it based on 2022 w2 or 2023 w2?

They do send a text

Hi _____, your VIN is assigned. Upload an insurance policy in the Tesla app now. We will message you again when it's time to schedule your delivery.

As far as i understand, it's based on number of vehicles sold, and not date
