Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

No, I had to take Tesla's financing at 5.4%.
Still looking at a better rate. Should have applied to Gold Coast when I saw Tower screwing around, but then they switched only to FL residents.
Definitly need a better rate. Leaving $10k on the table over 5 years is not a good deal in my book. lol
I will tell you as someone who was very lucky to get the GCFCU loan that they are not much better in terms of responsiveness to auto loans since they were probably the 2nd most slammed CU due to popularity from YT channels. I fortunately got lucky after calling many times to the GCFCU phone agent and he was able to get me in contact with a membership/loan rep on the phone who was willing to not only set up my GCFCU membership but offered to help me with my vehicle loan as soon as I applied.

I was able to get car loan with Sea Air FCU @ rate 3.75% (after failure with GCFCU). It just took a few days to get the loan, so quick.

If you're interested with Sea Air FCU, please PM me I can give you a very good associate contact.
This CU is not widely available since membership is restricted to military, veterans and Seal Beach employees.

Thanks and congratulations. What's was your loan term (years)? Also what is the eligibility criteria to join that FCU? Thanks.

3.75 that's a great rate given what I'm seeing locally at my CU! How long of a term? Was hoping maybe 60months
Thank you, I'll get my MYLR delivered to home next Tuesday.

About the car loan with SAFCU, I applied for a carloan that trigged a membership application. All of that just took couple of days if you have your recent paystubs/income available.

Please reach out to Leslie Nguyen @ [email protected]. She's quick. Hope it help and good luck

I got 3.75% for 5 years.
I've just checked back and was told they raised the rate this morning, sorry.
However, looks like other lenders also raised their rate lately.

For those who paid with plaid, does Tesla withdraw the funds prior to delivery or after you it accept in the app?
