Get $300 with a new checking account and another $200 with a new savings account with qualifying activities. Plus, get an extra $400 bonus when you open both accounts at the same time. TOTAL $900.

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use.

To receive the checking bonus:
1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval;

AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the savings bonus:
1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval;

2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment;

AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the extra bonus:
You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new account within 15 days.

To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

Early Account Termination Fee
If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.
23% return on investment, not bad at all.

$900 / $15,500 = 0.058

0.058 * 4 quarters = 23%
lol what? You're getting $900 for 90 days with $15,000. You need to redo your math.

One time when wanting to take advantage of a similar Chase deal, I walked in and was helped; another time I made an appt and was helped, The last time I walked in waited a bit and some guy who didn't to be too busy got up from his desk and he told me to do online.

Your math is off. It's $900 after 90 days + 15 days until deposit is made. Return is lower than 2% a month.
What is your point? You have another risk free investment that gives you about 2% per month, which is effectively right around what he said - between 23-26% depending on how you want to calculate it.

I think you're both saying the same thing. Stop making it so hard.

I think johndoe35 was trying to say <2%/month is about the equivalent of 23%/year. Of course you have to be diligent about closing out at least the saving account after you get bonus. Some of these deals take quite a while before the bonus funds are deposited in your account.

Is there any way to find out how long it's been since there was an active account that received a bonus with Chase?? I know I did one in the past but not sure how long it's been and it would be dumb to park the $$ there and then have them deny me after. (I only know I had an account because when I went to use my username it said it existed...)

Would it show up in a credit report?

I would definitely make an appt. Do it tonight--they will probably be booked tomorrow and it's possible open appts don't show up for the same day. Guess there's no rush in opening the account but a rush in closing the old checking/savings accounts. You don't need an appt to close checking/savings account. Teller can do that.

What garbage... why would they draw attention to this stupidity.

That's about $115 in lost interest by parking 15k there. Dumb.
You're inky parking it there for 90 days

It is quite funny seeing all these comments about "Closing the account, after cashing out ASAP"...I would like to know where the next short term place to park their savings would be....like I'm not seeing these kind of deals that often.

I wouldn't worry about closing ASAP, until the next deal comes up, and transfer it out then.....of course, unless they need access to the 15k for expenditure reasons. Its not like it takes a month to close the account. Also there is the risk cancelling of any CHASE CC they may have while closing the account so fast.

What happens to cc if I close the account? What is the risk?

Gaming the system....no guarantee they won't shut you out. I heard this second hand...take it for what its worth.

Not a big deal if your making money somewhere else (cut your loses)....my point is no need to cash out (close account), unless another investment is in the works.

Actually there is, because you will be paying a collective $17/mo in account maintenance fees for an account you don't use. Are you new at this?

Not with a balance that meets the no fees rules... do you read the fine print?

If you gonna pull all your money out, then of course you would close it to avoid fees.

Yeah, that's why I pulled all my money out of T-mobile. They were competitive vs others before rates started rising though.
