If you have the patience and basic knowledge to manage your loads, the best way is to get a 30 amp generator inlet box mounted outside your house close to your main panel where you can get a generator within 50' or so. Then get the correct 10/4 generator cord the length you need and have a generator interlock kit installed at your main panel. This gives you the most flexibility. You only turn on the breakers that have items that you want to power. Yes, if you turn on too much stuff, it will trip the breaker at the generator or the one you installed in the panel at the interlock. But it gives you the most flexibility to be able to power what you want. You aren't limited to the same 4 or 6 circuits, etc, like a small generator panel limits you too. You just need to know what is on each of our breakers and how much load you can put on your generator and of course, your generator needs to be a 240V generator. There are ways around using a large 120V generator but you won't be albe to power any 240v circuits and making the entire panel the same leg of 120V can be difficult and still stay code compliant/safe. Getting a 240V generator will make tying into your panel much easier.

Extremely good deal. Loud, as an open frame will be, but a good generator. I have one. Just wish it was natively dual fuel.

Ok so I just bought this and noticed that Walmarts website says returnable and Amazon says it's eligible for replacement. Bought from Walmart. Got the 3 year Allstate warranty too.

Great deal. Paid 1100 shipped a few years ago. Been solid so far. This is the largest inverter generator you can get for the price. Eco mode is quiet for night time, still runs furnace, 2 fridges and 2 freezers all night just fine.

A good buy for anyone looking for a whole home generator that will provide clean power and great fuel economy. This will start and run a 5 ton ac with a soft start kit.

I wish the 9000/7250 watt version of this, the Model #201067 would go on sale. It sits around $1,400 and never seems to go on sale. Hard to justify $600 more dollars for 250 more watts but I like the 50 amp plug since you can run this 100520 at about 29 amps continuously which is pushing it for a 30 amp plug. Yea, it's still under 30 amps but when I am on backup, I want reliability.

1 - potentially how long this sale price will be good for, and how probable it is to see this price again before BF

2 - is there anything out there discount wise that you could stack to reduce the price further…like 5% discount, etc? Or is opening an Amazon credit card & using the promo discount probably the only other discount you could stack on this?

I need one sometime this year, but I need to have an electrician out to my house to quote me a price for transfer switch install. I want to buy at this price, but don't want to be stuck with it in the off chance that I have to pivot to something else based on what an electrician says.
