This is a $10 jug, the screws don't hold oil in but it works for what it is meant for, 1-2 oil changes max. The people writing bad reviews probably filled it to the top and expect plastic plugs with 2 turn threads to hold in the entire 10quarts.... Shocker it'll leak..
I've owned this for years, do not max it out and you'll be fine, great for a diy-er
It's guaranteed to splash if your car is using thinner oil such as 0w-20. Read the reviews. I'd just stick with the regular $3 drain pan and pour the old oil to any empty unused container then take it to the auto store for recycling. Or spend a couple more dollars for the larger capacity one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/209954607

I've used this for about 2-3 years now and it does a good job. Recommended.
I bought this 2 years ago and use it often as well. It is worth noting that on my bigger vehicles (6L and up oil capacity) there is basically 0 chance you will not leak oil everywhere. This is basically either a 1.) Good holding can from other oil pans, or 2.) Perfect for small engines with low capacity.
LOL while picking up some clearance oil I scored the larger 16qt drain pan for free at a Autozone in a $$$Town$$$$ they told me the guy tossed it cause the drain cap was damaged but one of the oil caps from a used jug worked !! have used it several times for OCI's on my Suburban and no issues so far ??

I had one of these and got so fed up with it that I tossed it out and went back to a traditional pan and a separate 4 gal storage container.
They're a pain for low or high profile vehicles; it's either too tall to fit under a low car and still give you sufficient clearance to access the oil pan bolt and filter or the clearance is too much (like with a truck) that oil splashing becomes an issue and it doesn't have a high enough rim like a normal pan to contain the oil splashes.
Then there's the problem with the practicality of handling it since you need to sufficiently clean off the shallow catch surface before you do anything else with it, wish to store it upright, or drain it out.

How do you store this without making a mess since the top will get oily?
