My 6K recording 360 camera is hog storage hungry. 1 hr recording took 64 GB away. I need something bigger now.
Yeah for you it's a no brainer. I'm thinking of putting this in a 2K security camera that records 24/7. Looks like 128 will get me roughly a week so I'm trying to decide if I really need 2 weeks of recordings...

SanDisk is generally better and more trusted, and currently $4 cheaper. They also have a 10 year warranty on many models.
According to who? Samsung flash storage is top notch and is extremely reliable. Any flash mfg can have its share if failures but I have not seen any data or anecdotal evidence to suggest that Samsung cards are any less reliable. I have at least 16 high endurance Samsung cards in my dash card and Wyze security cameras for ~5years without a single failure. The security cams run 24/7 with no issues. I also have plenty of SanDisk cards also with no issues.

If concerned about fakes, just remember that you can use Samsung's own Authentication Utility.

https://semiconductor.samsung.com...ort/tools/

Scroll to the bottom of the page, and look for "Samsung Memory Card & UFD Authentication Utility (4)".
Looks like the tool is for Windows OS only. Is there any way to use a Mac to authenticate it?

I was keeping an eye on these for when they dropped and this looks similar to previous FP deals for the same cards - these are specifically for continuous recording use like dash cams or home surveillance. And being sold direct from Samsung means less or no risk of counterfeit cards.

Install windows on the Mac. This will work best on the older ones with Intel processors.

In all seriousness, I'm not sure. I rarely deal with Macs. You could use something like Crystal Disk Mark to check the speed, but you would have to double check the speed of whichever adapters you are using to make sure they are not causing a bottleneck.

Honestly, you are probably better off just asking a friend with a Windows machine or a computer repair shop if they will test it for you.

Since people will ask: these are specifically for dash cams, body cams, drones, and security cameras. You can feel free to use them in anything though, but there are often less expensive alternate options. The endurance is the write cycle longevity and the resistance to failure in extreme temperature conditions.

Highly recommend getting bestbuy to price match. Counterfeit cards mixed into Amazon's stock are far too common.

I just paid basically the same price for a 64gb card 3 days ago so this is a great deal

This card is better for constant and continuous recording or for devices that constantly read and write to the card. It's an endurance card, they're worse in speed and overall performance, but make up for it in longevity for constant use.

Or at least Samsung won't deny your warranty claim if you used this card in a camera like they might with their regular cards.

The PRO Plus models have been cheaper recently ~$23 for 256GB. The PRO Plus doesn't have the write endurance, but that generally isn't needed for Steam Deck, where you install (write) a game once and play (read) it many times. The PRO Plus models are faster too, but that probably doesn't make much difference for Steam Deck.
This^. The endurance models just have more backup sectors, so you'll still have the full 256GB working for longer after more writes. There's no additional tech in them besides just having a few more sectors. The endurance models are made for devices performing lots of writes, like dash cams, security cams, etc.
