60K - 110K American Airline Points | $0-2500 spend | $0 annual fee for year 1

60k points - AAdvantage World Elite Mastercard from Barclays. Just for opening the card, and making a single purchase, you will earn 60,000 American Airlines miles. The card's $99 annual fee is even waived in your first year of card membership.

https://www.applyaviator.com

50K points - This card currently has a welcome offer bonus to earn 50,000 AAdvantage Miles after spending $2,500 within the three months of card membership. And the card's $99 annual fee is also waived for the first year of card membership.

https://citicards.citi.com/usc/LP...index.html

Put these two cards together, and spend just $2,500 on the other (the Citi Platinum Select World Elite card) in the first three months. Bam: You've got 110,000 American Airlines miles. All without paying an annual fee in your first year.

That's an easier (and cheaper) path to pile up more than 100,000 miles than you'll find with almost any other airline. Of course, it requires opening two credit cards and responsibly meeting the minimum spending requirement

Anyone know how long after receiving card and making first purchase do the 60,000 points show up on the Barclays card? Is it next day or following bill cycle. I have a trip in 2 weeks I'm debating booking in case the points show up in my account quick.

Actually he's right — I booked round trip to Tokyo business and it was a screaming deal.
Can you provide details on that? Is it still available? Through JAL?

They are among best points to have for those that know the specific sweet spots and want to use them like that!
What are the sweet spots?

So I had about 60000 AA points last year. And you would think you can get 2 round trips easily. But man. The cost of airlines was so high last year. I couldn't even get one with these points then I said let me used it for rental or hotels. AA has a separate site where you can book rentals. My points were expiring in September so I had to use them and I had a trip planned. The costs of rentals was also high. So I go to their website cars.aamiles.com and I think it was some relief because I booked a 2 week rental with Subaru outback and spent $400 plus 60,000 miles. I looked at Costco and they were around $1200 so maybe I was able to save some money?

AA miles expiration is based on the last activity in the account. You can always extend your expiration by buying something through the AA shopping portal. (Just link through for an small order for Home Depot or similar)

Except it's not 😂 but then again I did share the post from Thrifty (which I guess they showed it to me as an ad. I copied everything off their site)

Actually it is very much dynamic at this point.

I just checked DFW to Tokyo (HND) one way on 6/14/2023.
It costs 105k miles for main cabin (Economy).
No AA award chart is showing 105k one way (210k round trip) for an Economy Class ticket to Asia. (highest is 85k) For the same flight the Premium Economy is 140k one way(chart says 115k max) and Business is 300k one way. (chart has max 175k)

AA Award Chart:
https://www.aa.com/i18n/aadvantag...-chart.jsp

Given the above, 110k aa miles are barely enough for one way Economy ticket to Tokyo non-stop. Not a deal IMO.

On the other hand, if I change the date to Oct 17 for example, then the same flight costs 35k on JAL and 39k on AA metal. In that case it's somewhat useful but most people who have school age kids can't go on Oct 17.

It may not be called dynamic pricing but in reality it is the same.

Interesting

I'm from east coast. GSP/ATL/CLT to HNL and then leaving from LIH. June 8-28 or around then. All the prices are too much. I may just end up using them for winter travel to Hawaii some time since off peak is so much cheaper. The dynamic awards are ridiculous.
