Good Deal. I've been with Ooma for 5 years. The taxes were $2.50 when I started, now $4.95,, but worth it. I still need the FAX for certain clients. With 3 handsets, it's even better. The box alone cost me $89 with the discount.

Good deal for sure and I'm another a very happy Ooma customer.

Saved me a bunch of money since 2010 and it just works w/o any major problems. Their CS also is good and responds fairly quickly.

I even pay for premium service with nary a gripe as it provides a lot of value to us. I also bought 3 HD handsets as they work well with Ooma.

The only thing I wish I would have done was buy the lifetime premium service for $400 that was available when I signed up in 2010, but there are limitations to that like it does not transfer to your next device should you upgrade or have one die.

i'm still on the free ooma promo where they pay all fees etc. Sadly I cant upgrade or the free service will end

Okay hopefully this doesn't mean Ooma is going belly up. Been using my free hub for over 14 years now with no fees. It's not really important anymore but I hate to just lose it without having gotten my monies worth (actually paid 0 since I was an early beta tester).

I set up ours with that tiny box thing we got from newegg (forgot what it is called), it used a GV number and the phone was our own. We unplugged it last time we switched internet service providers adn it has ben sitting there. Nobody calls the home line any more

sold my box and the attached phone number awhile back for $400 after using it for almost a decade. one of the best "tech" purchases i ever made..

I learned you can't take your ooma box out of the country and use it… what I think would be the perfect use for it

Taking my US number while living winters in another country using a regular phone vs app to me would have been worth it (for my parents)

What if you used a VPN with a US location? I know a bunch of guys from Turkey would use The Magic Jack. Set it up in the US and mail them to Turkey.

Been on landline for years and recently switched to ooma. Saved a lot of money, but quality is not that great. For the money saved, it will do the job if you don't use it much or rely on it daily for phone calls. But be warned you will have static, garbled speech, etc like basically a really bad cell call about half the time.

Also, keep in mind, if you still have old cordless phones you use to use on landline, you don't need the additional handsets. You can plug the ooma into you wall jack at home and plug in your old handsets into each plug in the house.

grandfathered in (no monthly user taxes) been using the original hub since about 2007. its paid for itself MANY times over already.
