Usually these require deep electrical outlet boxes so you'll have to replace those too if yours are too small

Menards had the ones with usb-c as well for $11 for a 2 pack. I bought the rest 😂
That's what I want. USB-A for now and USB-C for the next 10-15 years.

Need a free charger adapter? Go to any library and tell the librarian staff that you left your charger couple days ago. They'll take you a bin of lost & found chargers. These chargers are ownerless and I bet you that librarians kept the best chargers as long it doesn't have mark or name on it.

Same thing works at hotels. I've forgotten my charger at home before and used this trick.

I have three of these - two in our master bathroom and one in the hall bath. They are fine if you leave your devices plugged in overnight, but they are very old (slow) charging tech.

Hopefully they are blowing these out before they introduce a better model. Personally, I would wait to see if that is the case.

I have never understood the reason for buying outlets rated for 15A.
because most regular wall plugs in homes are 15a circuits.

If you're going to install this it would seem like a better option to future proof and go with USB-C ports.
I don't see how USB c to usb C cables are the future? Sure they are reversible but the port is annoying small when plugging it in the wall

The area of my bedroom has old 2 prong sockets. For years I've using one of those 2 prong to 3 prong adapters. Also I have a surge protector plugged into it which I use to charge my phone, iPad, laptop, monitor, tv, and console. I usually have the phone, iPad, laptop, echo sow 8 and monitor always plugged in. I ve had this setup for yrs, and avoided any malfunctions or fire up till now. And more recently have had power outages due to the weather and no issues. So am I tempting fate and should just look for a safer method

No, you can use 15a on a 20a circuit. Not vice versa. Even though residential outlets are usually 15a, I run 20a circuits mostly. Unless it's a light circuits

I dont understand these comments. I have a ton of stuff that is still mini-usb, thus making a standard usb-a the best for my applications. Tons of people still have mini USB flashlights, lanterns, power banks. We all get that personal electronics like phones, tablets ect are usb c.

(Edit...I said mini and I meant micro)

Know your circuit...breaker...wire size...before 20A outlets are a good idea...don't expect a near 20A load just because you installed a 20A outlet...and please don't change your breaker to meet a 20A load without knowing your wire size...

Either is acceptable by code.

Many many homes have circuit breakers and wiring for 15A. You can't put a 20 amp outlet on a 15 amp circuit. I hope that's not what you're suggesting.
Yes you can put a 20 amp outlet on a 15 amp circuit and breaker. it would still only pull 15 amps because the breaker will trip before it exceeds 15 amps. Look up the codes. as long as the OCPD protects the conductors, there is no problem with it.
