Usually these require deep electrical outlet boxes so you'll have to replace those too if yours are too small

Yes you can put a 20 amp outlet on a 15 amp circuit and breaker. it would still only pull 15 amps because the breaker will trip before it exceeds 15 amps. Look up the codes. as long as the OCPD protects the conductors, there is no problem with it.
No you can't. Only 20a receps on 20amp circuits. Because of the obvious, overloading a 15a circuit, you def cannot put 20a on there.

If you're going to install this it would seem like a better option to future proof and go with USB-C ports.
This is why I don't like these. In a few years, it'll be USB D with Xtreme charging

I think, as much as I want this to be useful for more than just niche applications (wireless doorbell chime, echo dot 2nd Gen, charging older (likely microusb) devices, etc.), I feel like when I do a quick search on Amazon or eBay there's plenty of two-port type a chargers that are much faster than this, for about the difference in cost compared to a regular outlet (like $1.50, or roughly a charger for $9) and that's enough of a reminder to dissuade me..not to mention the oodles of chargers I have lying around

That is 2.4 total output. This is 3.6 total.
Yeah they are both pathetic. Don't plan on charging two phones at the same time.

Just installed one of these in my laundry room. Great for charging flashlights, tablets and other items I don't mind leaving plugged in overnight.

I'm confused if this is directed towards me because what I said is correct.

I mean common sense would tell you if you put a 20a outlet on 15 amps like a welder of some sort you could quickly overload the circuit if it doesn't blow by the off chance

USBA has been around a lot longer than USB C, almost 27 years. Meanwhile we've went through two other "mini" type connectors, mini and micro before c. USB A isn't going away ever.
