You'll definitely get better CPU performance but will be stuck with Intel Iris Xe 96EU graphics which is significantly slower than the RDNA 2 based Raseon 680M graphics. On top of that, in this one, you can add an external GPU using the USB4 port whereas the other model you've referred, doesn't even have a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port. Check the detailed specification. So, there is no normal way of adding any thunderbolt accessories or external GPU unless you want to go with some DIY methods of using M.2 to PCIe X16 converter, separate PSU to power the GPU and loosing the capability of using any PCIe SSD.

Note: Although the USB4 port is mentioned to be 20Gbps one, it is actually a full 40 Gbps Port and has been tested with external GPU docks. YouTuber ETA Prime has already tested this model.

Ecosystem that charges exorbitant money for extra memory/storage and does not allow users to upgrade those on their own, okay!

I just read 13 pages of Slick Deals banter which I disturbingly find enjoyable. I think for me a dockable laptop makes the most sense. I do have one question though. As someone who is looking to update his operating system from Windows 8.1 why does Windows 11 seem to have a bad rap in this forum. What are the negatives with 11 that are so bad. If your wondering why I willingly stuck with Windows 8.1 until it's end of life this month it's because 8.1 was the last Windows OS to natively support Windows Media Center, which was Windows greatest feature which apparently only I found useful.

Did you add to the cost:

* Webcam with IR that supports Windows Hello Logitech Brio - $150. Most of the laptops have it.
* Speakers - $50
* UPS - $100

I'm just curious if people understand what they loose when they choose mini pc over laptop.
All good points, which makes this product niche as a subsequent user has said. I'm using this primarily as a retro emulation box. Also connected to a digital pinball cab to run tables off PC which can be mounted and hidden.

I have a bunch of full form factor computers and laptops already...would not buy this as my only daily driver.

Looks cool but I'll put that money towards mac mini

After telling me my 5 year old i7 quad with 32gb ram is unable to upgrade to windows 11, that put me in a f Windows going forward mood.

Went from Android to IOS after the fiasco with Pixel 6 pro, just moving into an ecosystem that updates hardware longer since I tend to keep my devices longer.
Made the switch to Linux myself. Had enough of Microsoft. Never been happier. It has been 2 years and I'm still a Linux noob because nothing breaks.

The integrated Graphics aren't even close — AMD has Intel beat hands down for integrated graphics.

Yes, the CPU is better but the GPU performance on that thing is horrible.

Can you share which ram and ssd have you Installed?
I ordered this RAM. Newegg had the cheapest 5200mhz RAM. Anything faster is impossible to find.

For SSD I went with the 2TB WD Black SN850X that was on the front page for $169 a couple weeks ago.

I was hoping to install proxmox, and run all the OSes as VMs. The only problem is apparently there are some issues getting the iGPU to pass through proxmox until they come out with a patch for this latest Ryzen architecture.

You can probably use Rufus to install Windows 11 on the computer.
Correct... Rufus has options built in to modify the installer to allow install on unsupported hardware:

I used to love Windows Media Center and had a PC dedicated to that and gaming. However there are so many better options these days (Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, HD HomeRun, Not to mention all the streaming services)

Benefit of it compared to a regular computer?
