3Cr13 steel is pretty darn low end even for a $10 knife.

I want a knife made out of a German submarine that sank in WW2. I know there are watch companies that use steel from old ships that were made prior to the testing of nuclear weapons, (Sinn u1 comes to mind). I forget why though, something to do with magnetism I think?

why does it have to be one that sunk? maybe the pressure of the deep sea raises the HRC...

China has been salvaging sunken ships illegally for the steel.

Good for them. Beats having it turn into rust.

I've always been surprised the Nazis didn't melt down the Eiffel Tower.
