When you want to share your 5 e-files with a family member with a different OS, the only way to do it is with a Physical Key Card that is shipped to you. It works, but I kind of wish that the downloads allowed you to download Windows or Mac.

Just use cash app for free. Also you don't necessarily need the statements if you can find what securities you sold in your history

Don't know about your situation but I haven't even received tax documents for half of the brokerage accounts I have.

Also, will wait a bit extra to see if I get 1099 from certain banks for credit card referrals for churning in multi-player mode.

State+tax should drop to $15 by then.
guess the brokers have until the end of Jan to send them out and can take another week or so to get them in the mail

Can someone tell me if I own a small LLC with no employees and less than $1,000 in expenses for the year (mostly mileage) will I be able to get by with Premium?

Anybody know how much is additional state? I need to file for 2 states

Edit: looks like it's $40
"One state program download included - a $39.95 value"

H&R Deluxe and State hits $15-$20 with the state software included.

That said you can install the software on 2 computers and only do your Federal pieces and DO NOT START your state components. Copy the H&R 2022 file to the 2nd computer and only then start the individual states (2) on the respective computers.

Dont confuse the e-filing part as 5 Fed filings are included States for the most part are an additional fee (NY is free for example). No real way around this other than printing and mailing it out.

I have to file NY and NJ. So does that mean I would get it for free since NY is free to e-file? So NY is free and NJ is part of the 1 state HRBlock gives? is it free if under $73K only?

In order to do multiple states without paying for 2nd state as I had the same questions and did this successfully last year living in PA (Resident) and working in NY (Non-Resident):

Install Deluxe+State software on 2 machines.
  1. Complete ONLY your Federal portion and DO NOT start the State steps.
  2. Once the Federal is done you copy the H&R Tax file to 2nd computer.
  3. Once you have your Federal file on both computers you can then start the state and pick the 2 different states you need to file on the respective computers.
  4. Obviously this means that any changes you make in Computer 1 you'll need to manage the changes in computer 2 manually so its best to do the State at the tail end of the filing process.
Obviously many/most states charge to e-File but dont get confused with that portion and e-Filing and filling out 2 different State's taxes using the software are 2 different things as each state you fill out has a separate charge.

Only way to get around the e-Filing charge is to print and mail your return. NY FYI, is free to eFile.

I got mine last year at the beginning of Feb for about $24.99 ($49.99 with a $25 discount). Since Newegg raised the price to $54.99, I am not sure if the price will down further. Hope others could share their thoughts.

For those bargain hunters waiting for a $15 price, I would just say that is not guaranteed. With inflation so high it may not get that low for deluxe + state again. Who knows $19.99 may be the new low. I am waiting at least until the end of Feb. before I bite.

1 state inlcude and additional state is $40 plus another $15 if you efile for NJ.

FreeTaxUSA $15 per state efile included. Federal is free.

Wait...so $40 just to fill out the second state form, and another $15 to e-file it???

I was thinking about freetaxusa and it is looking like a better/cheaper option

You will need Premium & Business to prepare, and file corporate and S-corporation tax returns, partnership and LLC tax returns, estate and trust tax returns, and nonprofit tax returns

Totally incorrect. Don't mislead people when you don't even know. Read what people actually ask, OK?

I've been using basic Premium for many years and the LLC goes onto Schedule C, all good.
