Most Menards deals don't get posted in Hot Deals because not everybody has a Menards close by, and people complain about the rebate process/checks.

I posted the link so that people interested in Menards deals can subscribe to it and be alerted to Menards deals.

There are some dedicated slickdealers in that Menards thread that post known/unknown deals and keep the rest of us informed, I have nothing but heart felt thanks for those people.

Now, get off your high horse and enjoy. Done

So now all deals should be put into one long 450 page thread that has been going on since before Osama bin Laden was killed by SEAL Team Six?

Wow, the front page of this website is going to be drastically different moving forward. God forbid finding something from Amazon or Walmart with this SOP....

Stopped doing Menards rebates years ago, they are store credit and generally have a fairly short time period to use them on. Only works well if you actively go to Menards often. Not really a SD IMHO especially with the store being pretty regional.
Menards rebates are used as cash and never expire.

Actually better than cash as you don't pay sales tax on purchases paid with rebate credits.

Menards is stuck in 1995. Fill out a form. Print it out. Put it in an envelope and pay postage. Mail it in. Wait weeks or months for the rebate, and it's not even a check that you can cash. It's a credit slip that can only be used on a future Menards purchase. It's like Kohl's cash but slower with more work.

99% of negative comments about Menards are from people who don't live near Menards.

Yes their online ordering sucks compared to Amazon or Walmart, but the deals are unquestionably slick.

In-store only and unrepeatable impossible "YMMV" posts are allowed on front page so there's really no argument here.

True ... they've never had a time limit. Plus they have always processed and paid rebates I've submitted after the mail by date, sometimes months after.

Yes, and they charge you a $1.40 processing fee to ship the item to your local store! (I understand that this is for someone in another store to pull the item off the shelf.) While this is not encountered at HD and Lowe's, 99% of the time my local Menards has cheaper prices and better selection than HD and Lowe's.

For this item, I find this to be a slickdeal in comparison to the current $15 price on Amazon [amazon.com].

I have always gotten my rebates back and shop at Menards regularly. For those in a similar situation, this is a hot deal!

I believe the reason they don't charge tax on the rebate credits is due to they charged you tax on that cash spent earlier. For example, buy this level for $6.99 and pay tax on that $6.99. Then spend your $6 credit (which you already paid tax on) later without being taxed again on that money.

OK maybe not expiring is new. Are you saying I can go into a store with a rebate certificate and they will give me cash I can go spend elsewhere?
It's not new, you're just clueless.

If you don't need tools/wood/paint etc., you can always buy food/snacks/candy with the rebate.

And yes, you can mail these forms months after they expired and Menards will still send the rebate, so don't throw them away if you missed the deadline.

Used as cash and redeemed for cash are entirely different things

I think the Menards rebate system works great. I do have a Menards by me so it works out well because I know I'll be back in the store at some point to spend the credits.

Idk about the late part. I've intentionally tested it by sending a reciept expired by a few days in with a bunch of valid receipts, and I could tell by the rebate amount that they deducted the expired one. So maybe YMMV depending who processes the rebate?

Got to love mail in rebates. I'm still waiting on my coffee pot refund from x2 Christmases ago Kohl's.
