Adorama is discounting the 2023 MacBook Pro 14.2" base model by $150 with code "APINSIDER".

https://www.adorama.com/acmphe3lla.html

Steps:
1. Add to cart
2. Go all the way through checkout, on the billing section, look at the top to add the promo code
3. Add "APINSIDER" for a $150 discount

This matches Apple EDU pricing for those who don't qualify. Not sure on the debacle around SSD speeds and M1 Pro vs M2 Pro overall. For $250 more ($1599 seems to be the lowest reliable price the M1 Pro hits), the newer model is slightly more future proof.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

When would I see the disk write issue?
You likely won't unless you were working with an m1 side by side doing similar tasks. I can understand why people are concerned, and why some are up in arms (it really is a goofy choice for a newer product) but the real world will probably be nothing noticeable except to the most extreme users.

Here's the moment they confirm the single/multiple SSD chip difference between the M1 Pro and M2 Pro:

Here's a video about the real world impact so you can see if it would affect you:

I've already addressed "Max"Tech's nonsense on here. Is there any real world, non-contrived impact? I've a $499 Mac Mini M2 8/256. Where am I going to see an issue? Is swap an issue? Are people really buying 500GB SSDs to improve that, rather than just buying more RAM?

Bestbuy had open box certified like new during no sales tax in August 2022 for $1319. Thats the lowest i ever seen the 14" M1 pro 16gb ram 512gb ssd so far. It only had 4 charges on the one I got. It was practically new.
Technically the 2 for $2700 Costco deal was the best. Making them $1350 brand new, sealed.
