Fast charging can be hard on nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, as it can lead to a decrease in the battery's overall capacity and lifespan. This is because fast charging generates heat, which can cause the battery's electrodes to degrade over time.

Additionally, fast charging can also cause the battery's voltage to rise quickly, which can lead to an increase in gassing and water loss.

It's recommended to charge NiMH batteries at a moderate rate, rather than using fast charging, in order to prolong the battery's lifespan.

Also, it's important to note that not all NiMH batteries are designed to handle fast charging, and some manufacturers may recommend a slower charging rate for their specific batteries. So, it's good to check the user manual or contact the manufacturer if you have any doubts.
Good Find Op - but just because it's well off it's (overpriced) $49 price, does not indicate it's a great deal but is a good price to get in to the eneloop battery universe.

According to the Camel (x3), this is the price point this product has gone down to a few times over the past couple of years, I believe it is still a bit overpriced.

12 batteries + a charger.

What is the consensus on a GREAT price for Eneloops? Less than $2 a battery?
Throw in a $10 charger and this is not a great deal IMO.

If this was in the $30 range, it would be a great deal.

For anyone who does not have Eneloops batteries but has a need for rechargeable batteries (ex. Kids toys), this might be the time for you to get in on the eneloop battery world. They are a reliable and awesome product.
I'll take the tiny inconvenience of a potentially dead battery over a battery bay full of acidic rust and corroded and broken contacts any day. LMAO

That was for the white label batteries. They changed the batteries, now they are grey. I have yet to find info on how they compare to the white label laddas. If they are even made with them same chemistry as eneloops or white label

I've owned some of my eneloop batteries since 2014 and they still hold a charge well. We use them for xbox and other game controllers and get frequenct use. Had 1 die about 6 months ago but other than that the others work great.

However, the problem with non-rechargeables is that they leak over time and ruin your toys.

Question: I have a bunch of other brands of batteries and I'm not too happy with them. I was told that Eneloop produces good batteries, so I wanted to make the switch. I have TONS of chargers. Will these Eneloop batteries work on these chargers? Should I buy the Panasonic Eneloop branded charger?

Thanks.

Is quick charging bad for NiMh batteries? Will it shorten the useful life of the battery?

I think you are missing the point. Use rechargeable for things you pick up all the time and use all the time. I'd buy home depot generic brand AA or AAA for things that only get used occasionally. Been using them in my game cameras for the last few years with great results.

Warning - this charger is terrible. If you drain your batteries significantly this charger won't work on them. About half the time I have to use a cheap dumb charger that doesn't look at the voltage to give it a quick bump up before putting them into this "smart" charger. I think it assumes any battery below a certain voltage is defective. Unfortunately the voltage threshhold is far too high as I've recharged such batteries for years without a problem. On the other hand the much better LaCrosse charger almost always works on such batteries. Only on a very rare occasion is a battery drained so far that I have to jump start a battery to be used in a LaCrosse. Plus the LaCrosse is great at doing a full charge-discharge-charge test to measure the actual capacity.
