I received my order for this card today. Given that I've only had the card for a few hours, I'm happy with what I've seen so far.

In the little time I had over lunch, I tried Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and Evil Dead: The Game as I knew how those performed on an Nvidia Quadro K2200 (poorly).

I, by no stretch of the imagination, have a proper gaming PC, but rather a Dell workstation. Despite that, both games ran very, very well at 4K on a TV with maximum settings, VSync enabled, and no ray tracing. The card is in "overclock" mode by having the rear-panel button depressed.

I was unable to hear any coil whine (or even GPU fan noise) over the barely-audible dual Noctua NH-U9DX i4 coolers that purposely run 10% over Dell's stock minimum fan speed setting.

Not sure why people are downvoting you. This is a totally reasonable opinion considering what the GPU market looked like before crypto mining came along.

I plugged my RX6800 PC and PS5 into the same 4K monitor and played Fortnite w/ RTX, Doom Eternal, Rocket League, God of War, Cyberpunk, just a bunch of my games in general and compared side by side. I know this will be downvoted, but the differences in graphical fidelity are not so great.

In 2015, I built a killer $500 PC around a R9 290 NewEgg sold for $200. In 2019, I built a $600 Ryzen 2600/RX5700 rig. Both traded blows with consoles and had the added versatility of being PCs, emulating, and more. If we are about SlickDeals, I'm just not sure the PITA that is PC gaming today is worth it. I've got 10 launchers, 4 different RGB apps, etc. It's just a mess and every so often Windows updates and breaks something.

Is this a good card? Yes. Is this a good price for the card relative to the market for this card? Yes. Is this a good value? No, it's not.

Trying to decide whether to spend an extra 50 or so for the XT Red Devil version. Id probably run the XT one in silent mode (not OC) because id be chancing it with my 650w PSU. Seems the gains are significant but its also a much larger and power hungrier card than the non XT. Currently have a 6750 XT id be returning in exchange for the base or XT 6800. Coil whine reports and it being Powercolor instead of ASRock for the 6800s are the only thing scaring me off slightly.

True so after taxes though Im looking at a difference of 419 (rounded up) paid for the 6750XT, the 6800XT after tax comes out to 544 (rounded up). So a difference of $125 between those two.
The regular 6800 lands at 502 after tax.

6750xt (to return to store)
6800 = +$42
6800xt = +$125

Is the xt worth the extra $83 over the base 6800?

I picked up an open box in MicroCenter too. Build my son's game PC. How much inferior is this card compare with the XT version?
Not much. It's a really, really good card for overclocking and an overperformer in general at current prices (particularly vs nvidia stuff which is kinda sandwiched into a small dollar band with several cards that perform quite a bit differently--steeper discounts in the midrange for AMD). If you got it for a good price and there's nothing wrong with it, I would definitely keep it.

Where are you getting these numbers? If 502 with tax for 6800 and 544 with tax for 6800xt, absolutely 6800xt. If 6800xt is actually $83 more than the 6800, both after tax, then it's basically you're paying no more, cost per frame, for the extra performance. you're just paying more to get more

Microcenter. Cost after tax shows when going through checkout. Also did math wrong on diff tho.. Xt is about 41 more than base 6800, not 83.

Right. So buy the xt unless you literally don't need any more performance than the level of the 6800 or are barely cutting it with the PSU. The 6800 was the most efficient card on the market prior to the release of new gpus

As someone that is privileged to have both cards. I have the rtx 3060-ti in my wife's rig and the rx 6800 in mine.

I see both of these cards priced about the same on Amazon. The rx 6800 beats the 3060 ti easily. If running ray tracing fully on then the 3060-ti beats the rx 6800 in certain titles.

I would suggest look at some YouTube comparisons. To simply it if you need it for a specific Ray tracing title get rtx 3060 ti or better. If not the rx 6800 is better value.

Got mine and it overheats within 5 minutes playing civ6. Civ6 it's not a graphically challenging game. So disappointing.
