I used to think these were great bottles, when it was my first bottle. I've since tried different bottles of various brands and have realized hydroflask isn't very good and they're all marketing. Ozark trail has a 24 oz at half this price and keeps my water much colder for a longer period of time. rtic has the same capacity also and they're currently priced a few dollars cheaper for both the 16 and 20 oz. Good luck keeping your water cold after a few hours on a hot summer day with hydroflask. Sometimes I'd let it sit on the court while I'm playing tennis, and while it didn't turn warm, it wasnt ice cold like my rtic/ozark trail.
I wrote the following without really realizing I'm not really writing about hydroflask anymore, so stop here if you dont want to read about rtic/ozark trail.
Ozark trail and rtic have been equivalent in my experience. I would actually say ozark trail uses higher quality material compared to rtic tbh, and they're half the price. I do have 2 complaints with ozark trail, that made me go back to rtic (I started w rtic, bought an ozark trail, and then bought another rtic during its recent sale to replace my first rtic bc I dropped it quite a bit, and wanted a different color and something a bit prettier).
I have both of their half gallon jugs. ozark trails is significantly taller, and slimmer. But it is comically taller imo. For something that big, I didn't like that form factor. Also, I have a lot of problems closing the cap on ozark trail. Something with their threading just gave me a hard time. I never had that problem with rtic.
With that being said, ozark trail's material definitely feels higher quality. The steel is thicker; I'd be less concerned w that denting, but was always worried about my rtic. The handle is beefier. Even the rubber that surrounds the handle is nicer. rtic literally has some low quality foam that tears over time; this is both my experience and a friend's who i bought the rtic jug for. And even the cap is beefier. But all these materials also make the jug heavier.
Anyway, these may be "me" problems. I need to bring the jug in my bag when i go play tennis (I bike to the courts). So ozark took up too much room. I personally always have trouble w the cap, and so did my gf, but if youre not inept like us, or dont mind some frustration, then go for ozark. Ozark is about $16-17 cheaper, but rtic had a sale running recently (which I havent seen in a long time) and is priced the same as ozark.
I used them over the summer for a previous years osprey backpack. Order took about a week to arrive and the product was legit. They also have a decent return policy that mirrored my experience with moosejaw. I ended up keeping the backpack.

Has anyone ever used mountainsteals.com before? I would just like to know for future reference. I see hydroflask is listed.

What would be some reasons to get the wide mouth vs the standard and vice versa?
Wide mouth is for sure easier to fill/clean imo. Narrow is easier to drink from. They also have a new lid that makes a wide into a narrow spout if that helps. I also like the straight tube shape vs narrowed neck

I've wondered recently if this wasn't another overpriced fad brand like Yeti. Everyone at work seems to have a Hydroflask now and I'm over here with my Ozark Trail flask saving a pile of money.

You're saving and you bet your bottle is better than theirs. I just got a yeti also from a work event. Works just as well as rtic and Ozark. I wouldn't personally spend that kind of money on the same product though.
After years, I've noticed my 32/40oz bottles no longer keep my fridge water as cool. They have been babied, with boot lids and without any scratches/dents.
I got a Yeti rambler as a gift and that thing has been rock solid, keeps water cool much longer.
