I've had this system for 2.5 years now in a two story, 2900 sq foot house. I've never had any signal strength issues anywhere in the house, the backyard, or in the driveway. This is a great option for people that don't need/want more technically advanced systems. For this price, it especially makes a lot of sense for cost conscious consumers. Get it for your parents, install it in about 10 minutes, and walk out like a boss.

I don't get it. If the device talks only 2.4 and the router talks both 2.4 and 5 at the same time, so what's the problem?
Me neither, I have a nice tp link system and it works truly fantastic and I really love the speed and reliability of it. Best mesh I've tried and I've had many, many systems.

That said, I have a robot vacuum by Neato that will not connect to it at all. Guest network set to only 2.4? Nope. Nothing will get that one device to connect. I have one single eero setup as a router off my TPlink system and my vacuum works fine off that. Why? No idea, but it works now so who cares. It's a thing with some old wireless chips it seems hence the persons question.

I have a TPlink Archer AX3000 but have really bad signal in the backyard/BBQ area (2 story home). Can I use these along with the TPlink as a repeater?

Any way to force these to run only 2.4ghz? I recently set up a chamberlain smart garage opener but it only seemed to work when I set up a 2.4ghz only guest network on my AirPort Express connected into my eero pro 6e. I've run into issues with other legacy devices requiring only 2.4ghz so a permanent network for these devices would be great.
Do you mean I can't set up two SSID (2.4ghz & 5.0ghz) with this? I am out!

The older versions were better. I love them in my rentals. Asus zenwifi for personal use.

I have learned my lesson with eero. fark their buggy firmwares. You are better off with tplink or asus if wireless backhaul is your only option
95% of folks would do much better with a single GOOD router. These mesh systems often degrade wifi.

They create more e-waste, and too many still put their isp modem in their basement or locked behind a steal door in a closet. That's where the installation was done

The industry created more confusion in an already complex field.

I have this bought couple of years ago, apart from this being wifi 5 everything works fine till date with automatic firmware update, but I used to have Asus router with a lot of customizations but not possible with this as it requires either subscription or simply doesn't support such features. Certainly moving to mesh router has helped with good wifi coverage around the house. If you still have a IOTs, phones, laptops etc with wifi 4/5 (bgn, ac) then this may be a good deal to try out MESH router first time.

It has an advance setting under troubleshooting to temp setup 2.4. I have used and once set I never had another problem with a 2.4 exclusive device after the 5 was turned back on.

It's supposed to switch automatically for different devices but unfortunately that was not my experience. Eero even has a troubleshooting option to temporarily only enable 2.4ghz but that did not work either. Almost gave up until I thought of the idea to try my old AirPort Express router.
Many routers allow you to separate the 2.4 and 5 so devices don't get to "choose" on their own - you assign them to one or the other.

I have four Eero 6e routers in my setup and it works flawlessly. Have been with Eero since the first generation and have never had any issues. I have one App and also manage my in-laws and parents homes as I gave them my older equipment. I pay for the Eero secure subscription, which covers up to 5 networks, so everyone is protected. It even blocks nearly all the ads for us, acting kind of like pihole. Overall, been happy with it and will continue to buy Eero as long as Amazon doesn't mess them up.

Nice! I bought one for my parents place becasue I installed wifi cameras everywhere but couldn't reach many areas of the house. After installing one, no problem wifh low speeds or deadspots anymore!

Will probably buy one for my place for the pool house 🤔🤔

Are they better than Nest Wi-Fi $90 deal we had last fall?
It had a router and point. Here we are getting 3 pieces so that's an obvious advantage.
